This is expected from Serena.
Report high_lander July 5, 2012 4:15 PM BST
you cant win if you cant return the ball - i expect the final will be just as easy for serena
Report Ghostdog July 5, 2012 4:15 PM BST
Yes, take your horrific noise away. Beyond a joke.
Report Java July 5, 2012 4:15 PM BST
I guess credit to Azarenka for making a game of it.  Many would have folded completely.

yes nice 2nd set, good effort from azarenka.
Report rickysomas1 July 5, 2012 4:16 PM BST
why the hell do I always double post posts?
Report Ghostdog July 5, 2012 4:16 PM BST
Anybody training a kid, lesson one would be - do not make stupid fking screeching noises, and alienate crowds all over the world.
Report thepunter July 5, 2012 4:17 PM BST
credit for what ' Serena was never in danger, completely controlled the score. When it mattered, aza could not win one single point to put some pressure in this set.
Report Darlo Bantam July 5, 2012 4:17 PM BST
Whatever you say about Serena, she's an unbelievably gracious winner and clearly loves winning tennis matches.
Report Cooee July 5, 2012 4:17 PM BST
Don't think you do, Ricky!  Are you sure you're not drunk?
Report mayburydrr July 5, 2012 4:17 PM BST
why is winner market suspended?
Report Cooee July 5, 2012 4:18 PM BST
Easy to be a gracious winner Darlo.  She can be pretty ungracious when she loses though!!
Report rickysomas1 July 5, 2012 4:18 PM BST
Cooee I often post them twice in row... but not on purpose.... LOL
Report the silverback July 5, 2012 4:18 PM BST
Why did they let an imposter on court? The picture I saw of her on the scoreboard was of someone with beautiful smooth skin.
Report addrian July 5, 2012 4:19 PM BST
cant wait for tomorrow games...
Report Cooee July 5, 2012 4:19 PM BST
I know Ricky, but I can't see any double-posts from you, so I'm not sure what you're looking at!! Laugh
Report RickyMartin July 5, 2012 4:20 PM BST
How can Williams play like that, serving 24 aces and basically playing unstoppable, yet when I have big money on her in the French Open, go out first round to some clogger who's never won a professional game?

Tennis eh? Bloody hell.
Report rickysomas1 July 5, 2012 4:20 PM BST
Am I that drunk? Laugh
Report Darlo Bantam July 5, 2012 4:21 PM BST
I often see double posts from myself until you go back into the thread.
Report rickysomas1 July 5, 2012 4:21 PM BST
rickymartin tennis surely..... but clay is probably one of the few non-male things able to stop serena's power.....
Report Cooee July 5, 2012 4:21 PM BST
Yup!!  Grin
Report johnnyrant July 5, 2012 4:22 PM BST
It's a shame S.Williams humility and respect for her fellow players is so waifer-thin. Horribly arrogant individual but virtually unbeatable serving the way she has in the last 2 games.
Report rickysomas1 July 5, 2012 4:23 PM BST
tonight bier, wine, meat, friends.... can't wait for it..... and there I'll probably get drunk.... Laugh lovely stuff!!! Tomorrow Alps..... let's celebrate life!!! Cool
Report Cooee July 5, 2012 4:23 PM BST
Serena hadn't really looked very good these championships either. She was lucky to make it through a few of her early matches. From the QFs onwards she's knocked it up several gears though. She looks better now then she's looked for a very long time.
Report rickysomas1 July 5, 2012 4:24 PM BST
another double post... LOL Serena is not arrogant imo... it's just like she knows she is well able to beat everybody and it's routine to win m points... she keeps her focus on and screams once she wins the whnole match....
Report RickyMartin July 5, 2012 4:24 PM BST
Still would of thought she'd breeze past that French joker. Never lost a first round, a set up and then a total blowout. I haven't really recovered from that, and Wimbledon has been a total disaster for me. Felt nice not having a bet today and just watching. Might do it more often.
Report Cooee July 5, 2012 4:26 PM BST
Not arrogant?  This is the woman who walked around Wimbledon with a tight t-shirt emblazoned with 'Are you looking at my Titles?'

She's definitely not that modest..  Good reason to be arrogant about her tennis ability, mindst.  I just wish she'd lose with a little more grace sometimes.
Report Cooee July 5, 2012 4:27 PM BST
Those short-odds lump-ons are a minefield Ricky. They mostly come off, but you can never tell when you're about to lose a limb or two.
Report addrian July 5, 2012 4:29 PM BST
after this performance do you think she will win the double match by herself???I mean if she serves 24 aces against azarenka she will have  a free set
Report differentdrum July 5, 2012 4:30 PM BST
She might effectively have had a six-game start but it would have been very interesting to see what would have happened if that misshit hadn't have caught the outer edge of the line and Azarenka hadn't choked on a couple of relatively easy balls in the tie-break.
Report rickysomas1 July 5, 2012 4:31 PM BST
I won't touch Wimbledon from now on Cooee..... too tricky and I'll have better things to do than betting.... enjoying/spending/hopefullynotwasting money LaughLaugh ....

I'll come back on monday but I'll check the result "live" on sunday surely... GL to everybody who gets involved or not.... Fed or Djok? Coin Toss.  Serena or Aggie? Serena Probably. Jo or Murray? I'd say Andy but Jo is crazy enough to win that match even in 3 sets...... Laugh
Report rickysomas1 July 5, 2012 4:32 PM BST
Serena is arrogant? Myabe that T-Shirt was not that great idea... but hey, it could have been weared cause of sponsorships..... Laugh

Djoko Murray final for me.  I think Fed beating Djoko at the French last year was the shock result between them. As a general rule, I just don't think Fed has the belief in himself when it comes to playing Djokobot.

And good as Tsonga is, I see Murray sneaking past him. He knows how to beat Tsonga, and I think he'll nerf through again tomorrow. It won't be pretty, but he'll make it...

Do stay away from those 1.05/1.06 shots in tennis tournaments though. It's only a matter of time before one of them bites you in the throat!!
Report addrian July 5, 2012 4:38 PM BST
i think tsonga might just ruin murray plans..it will be a very close game imo and the french is well agressive and could outpower andy..as for nole he will beat federer..imo fed cannot beat him anymore regardless the surface..
Report yarik July 5, 2012 4:38 PM BST
worthless thread serena was free money from the starts, so obvious damn i should've bet a 100% of bank, get lucky though with going 2-0
Report yarik July 5, 2012 4:39 PM BST
and tsonga and djokovic for me
Report RickyMartin July 5, 2012 4:42 PM BST
I'd love Tsonga to turn Muggy over, he's a gent and a good player whereas Muggy is an all round bellend.
Report yarik July 5, 2012 4:45 PM BST
I wonder did someone notice after 1 game or second the was a bomb on market - 1.200k on serena, was it back or lay, certainly back. Just wondering who was able to punt such a money on one match, any thoughts appreciated. I don't think it's crazy gambler, but can be small bookmakers trying to cut risks whatsoever
Report RickyMartin July 5, 2012 4:54 PM BST
Book makers regularly hit the exchanges. For example when Fred paid out on Manchester United winning the league this year I'd be flabbergasted if he didn't lay it off. Gets a shedload of publicity and media attention for around 30k. Money found down the back of the couch for a bookies.
Report yarik July 5, 2012 5:01 PM BST
So what i am thinking of - is there a point to follow down to these 'wise' money, or we don't know exactly was it lay or back. Some big guys making money on hereHappy
