At last the Final we have been waiting for. This should show how good Azarenka really is. Hopefully she will put up a good fight but Williams has been serving inbelievably this week.

I guess my position is that Williams turns Azarenka over in two sets with relative ease.

On paper that is the way it looks. How will Aza handle Serena's second serve? Will she return it down the lines without painting them of course or into her FEET? If she can read her first serve, she should just block it and send it back, but has she got this shot? I do not know. Aza can hold her own in the exchanges and trouble Serena, but she must cut out those silly ues. Lots of if's but basically Aza got the game to make it a close match. I will watch the first 3 games and decide then. |

I know Azarenka is not too popular on this site but I like to tennis she plays. When they have played before one of the players has not been at the top of their game. This should tell us how much she has improved.

Aza will not handle Serena's first serve... Aza doesn't like to return kick serves cause she loves to anticipate the time of the return to hit winners... to anticipate Serena's kick second yo have to play 1 meters behind the serve line... if you play there Serena can serve a second flat serve in the middle.... once you return Serena kick serving hitting the ball near to your shoulder you can't give your shot much power and Serena is well capable to generate power with both forehand and backahnd to close the point while you're still getting out from your last shot movements... and least this is my opinion... If Serena plays well focused I do doubt Aza can give us a close match but we'll see....in the 35 -0 year startig winning streak of Aza there's no sign of Serena.... is it a coincidence? I don't think it... Good Luck everybody...

Tennis is so random, that it effectively becomes a probability game influenced by what you think the players motives are. Take the top ten players out of the equation and theyre all capable of beating each other. Put a player from their own country into the mix and theyre capable of beating anyone. Put a pre-Grand Slam tournament in there, and any of the top players are capable of capitulating.

Looking forward to this. If Serena starts like she did against Woz, she loses. Otherwise I think she has to play better than she's played so far this week to even be competitive.

fwiw i think most players are trying pretty hard most of the time. many have coaches and the like travelling with them full time, so it's hard to envisage a player getting up to much funny business with an entourage in tow. unless you assume the whole camp are in on it.

If Serena uses the kick serve, Aza should know, because it uses a completely different grip and you can only use the kick serve from time to time. Demands a lot from your body. Let us enjoy the match. It should be exciting. |
