really Rafael stop touch herself every .. just , just
By:
did he complain about the clay after his win yesterday? or is he just being a sore loser?
People say he is humble, but this is only when he wins. |
By:
No, if they were to listen to him (or any other top player - Nadal is hardly the only one who is against it), they would've never changed it to this.
What's a mandatory blue, slippery (oily?) clay court at altitude doing this close to Roland Garros? Should be hidden as a 500 in the calendar somewhere after the US Open, or after Wimbledon at least. Men and Women alike have disliked the tournament in the run up to the French Open ever since it became part of the calendar. To appease the players they now put it in front of Rome, but court quality is still **** according to a lot of different players. |
By:
Petr, Nadal has been complaining about the clay since before the tournament started.
By:
and players like Wawrinka, Stakhovksy, Simon have complained after wins this week.
By:
what about black clay
By:
nadal has NO CLASS AT ALL in this situation
the problem is not the BLUE clay the problem is the kind of clay they are using in this tournament an expert said his company had the original blue clay, tested and working 100% fine but the tournament organiation went in the last minute to another company with a cheaper (and obviusly worst) clay THE COLOUR IS IRRELEVANT, NADAL IS A MUG and all the others complaining about the blue. Its much better for the people, for the line judges and for tv. |

By:
much better to watching

By:
and you have the proof on almagro court
ITS NOT THE COLOUR.. ITS THE POOR CLAY THEY ARE USING HERE. |
By:
zam i think nadal does not feel comfortable on the clay with grip. any he is already injury prone he looked totally out of sorts today
By:
I've never heard Fed threatening to miss Wimbledon because the green clay plays slower than Nadal break point down
By:
Verdsco as on he same clay
By:
as Rafael
By:
t*
By:
but the disscusion is ridiculous
they should go back to the original company who developed the original blue clay and nobody will complain about the colour its just a poor excuse from top players... they should blame the CLAY used here, not the colour that its 100% better for THE PEOPLE WHO SEE TENNIS AND IN FACT IS THE PEOPLE WHO NADAL AND THE OTHERS PLAY FOR AND WIN MILLIONS THANKS TO US.. |
By:
I know zamorano, but when Mr. Tiriac first came across with the idea he promised it would play exactly like a normal clay court, just have a different colour. I think it's ok if players bitch around about that promise obviously having been broken by organizers. Especially as they use this big a tournament in the run up to RG to really test this on a professional level for the first time.
Having said that, why bother making it blue in the first place? I never had real problems seeing the ball on TV, these streams or when I went to a clay tournament. There are glasses and contacts for your eyes out there... |
By:
red clay - heat
By:
look guys if you let nadall and verdasco play against each other on ice, there wouldn`t be much difference between them so verdasco would have a chance to win as he had today. But this kind of clay is really a casino - I watched some matches this week and the "better" players never felt comfortable even if they won their game. Yesterday there Nadal hasn`t any big problem ,so I set on Nadal before the match - I should have known better. At RG Nadal would distroy Verdasco.
By:
and the promise of a "it would play exactly like a normal clay court" was 100% real with the original company, not with the one they finally hired...
you never had problems seeing the ball on red clay.. ok, but dont you agree that its a much better option to see the play in this blue? its not a personal opinion.. its a fact based on science |

he probably has already retired then, noone will miss him nah it's you and your spoof thread that won't be missed ![]() |

Who cares if it's maybe ever so slightly more visible if it's already at a very good visible level with normal clay? Was that study sponsored by Tiriac or the company making the blue clay btw?
Do you want fluorescent balls (Tiriac's next idea) next year just because it further improves the visibility for the blind folks a teeny tiny bit? The thing is....Tiriac's messed up. Lots of players will associate blue clay with shit clay now. You know how they're all pretty much stuck in their little rituals (Rafa: "Don't touch my bottles", Sharapova never touching a line during changeovers etc.) and believes. He had the chance for it to be "blue clay = holy mama, this stuff is freaking awesome to play on", but the romanian Grand Lord of tennis failed to use it. |

By:
I hate that tournament anyway for what it done to Hamburg. That was a proper clay court tournament
By:
muppet event. sponsor deal > quality, risk of player injury.
with a bullshyte story about visibility and people buying it. ffs just make it 250 |

beginning of the week sportscommentator was calling it a test, better visibility, development in the sport and so on, "only players that now losing will complain"
now he's ranting about what utter crap it is and how every single player is complaining ![]() |
