see your point, you would hope for a lower price 1-0 up, maybe the market is bracing itself for another big swing three setter, had a few of those tonight
ive had my nibble on garcia when she dropped the first set, only faced one bp and lost it, cost her the set but forced many more on panovas serve, im hoping for 3 sets there

At 1-1 on sets, the pre-match favourite should be favourite. Simple as that.
And in fact, statistically, should be slightly lower odds than she started at.

SoA, i think if a favourite starts at 1.7 that covers the chance of an easy whitewash 2-0, 6-3 6-4. the fact the underdog has managed to win a set of the favourite for 1-1 justifies the price slightly higher at the beginning of the 3rd at 1.8/1.9

You would think that dan, but in fact the probability of the favourite winning a deciding set is greater than of them winning the match, from that position.

Who knows she is struggling. There is no-one watching this match and using Betfair at the same time.
mentally wise, yes they should be stronger and favourite for the win, but it also takes into consideration why the fav lost set in the first place, i.e. injury injury, playing off form, opponent playing stunning tennis etc, its a tough call when you cant watch it live :P
Whoever wins the set, if people consistently switch favourites at 1-1, then they are going to lose money long term.

if a match is worth to guess on you might as well lay low odds in it in my humblest of opinions
because I put the bet on after the first set, knowing that it is rare from Amanmuradova to win from a set behind, and that there had been lots of underdogs winning from that position today already.
I got more right than wrong today yes, but I havent been equal staking, I am putting more on than I should because I need the money.

someone earlier mentioned cheng has just come from KL so puig may well start quicker if Chengs tired, so lay cheng to start?? GH had a good win over arn last week, played quite well but ive seen nothing of pliskova so i have no idea of her form or liking of hard courts, so im staying off that one
She lost in the first round in KL. So she shouldnt be too tired.
depending on when she arived to the US, id still back puig as ive seen promising things from her, so thats whats id go for and nothing in the GH match, thats my thoughts
Monica Pig hasnt lost in the first round of qualifying for any tournament, in her career.
I'm going on Pliskova. She is 19, 14 wins (just 4 losses)this year, tall (6.1) and a fighter. About Puig I dont know what to say. I'm waiting for a few points there to see.
plisk is a fair shout too, but we've just seen 18yr old garcia lose 2-0 after looking good, to an average player in panova, so dont put too much monetary faith in the youngster! lol
Statistically in mens tennis, the older player wins more often. In womens it would be nice to know whether that is the other way round.

Garcia is an average-good youngster. I think Pliskova is future top 10.
lol ok, forget percentages then, bet a medium size so therefore if it goes wrong and you cant trade out coz two straight then its a loss you can suck up into the next day :) in other words dont go crazy on it! :p

I would say she's done well for someone who has just turned 18.
Don't read into ages too much in womens tennis personally. No doubt she obviously has a lot of potential.
Training with the 'adidas team' in Las Vegas last couple of weeks wasn't she? Gil reyes, world class coaches, so much input, not much to show for it recently.

She's a kid still...judge her when she's reached 21. The potential is there. Top 50 should be her aim by the end of this year.
There can't be too many teenagers ranked above her. Babos, Stephens? Can't think of too many others...
I don't know why as I have nothing to back this statement up with, so perhaps I shouldn't be saying it but I just get the impression and assume her attitude isn't right and subsequently will never fulfil her potential
