Thanks i realized it;s on the betfair form section, hmmm ranking and form favor Nishikori but he just doesn't have much experience on clay
By:
he won the US Clay court champs when he was very young
these south american courts are pretty quick i think |
By:
The US Clay court championships?
By:
yes
By:
Really...when did he win that?
By:
He doesn't tend to come to these parts to play though it's his debut here perhaps he's going to make an impact, with a good start to the year in Australian he must be thinking Top 10 by the end of the year I don't think he will get in there but he will need to win these kind of matches to have a chance so maybe the value is in fact on Nishikori, Ferrero is an odd character though his comebacks in his career but a straight set loss to Mayer is not inspiring really

mixed it up with delray beach, 2008
![]() he did get to finals of US CC though last year |
By:
He can play on red clay (has won some matches on red clay against some decentish players), but most of his clay court success has come on the American green clay courts which play more like a hard court.

Is this fast or slow clay court would you say in Buenos Aires?
By:
Slower than US clay courts and slower than last week in Brazil.
By:
Is strange Nishhikori is playing here. He's also entered the clay court tourn in Mexico next week. I would have thought he would stick to playing the US indoor tourns before Indian Wells/Miami, but I guess he feels he needs a decent clay season to get some points to get into the top 10 (plus his coach this season is an Argie clay courter)

i saw Ferrero recently in his davis cup match and I had the feeling that he look tired and far away from his best level of fitness. He managed to win that match due to his experience but his clear loss against Meyer - a player he would normally beat - confirmed my impression. I am on Nishikori on this one.

Apart from the commentator does anyone else sees an "a" in the end of "Nishikiri" ???
By:
having watched ferrero over the last couple of
years,i hav him as one of the most obvious match fixers.Clearly only playing tennis now to boost his retirement fund.Beaten by lowly Mayer last start, you can now expect a win against stronger opposition. |
By:
No but it's Nishikori
