In general do the professional traders try at the end of a match to lump on the favourite -say trading at 1.1-to get rid of any red position they may have or do they accept the loss?
Have you any experience of this?Do they double/treble their stakes etc at this point.

It is best to accept the loss and move on. Eventually the lumping will end catastrophically.

100 people will answer- 1/3 will say yes, 1/3 no and 1/3 it depends

Lumping is never a good idea. chasing looses is even a worse one. GL

I agree...my point was that all these questions usually end up in many opinions...

I'm no professional trader by a long shot....what i do is, when i place my opening bet, i make a decision both red and green how much i'm going to exit the trade at, and the majority of the time - i'll place that bet and just wait to see which gets matched. (obv it sometimes depends on the match, you have to use your eyes on the game if you can) Once i've hedged so i'm equal red / green on both sides, i'll wait untill the next opportunity comes, perhaps even in the same match. Quite often you can trade your way out of a red position.

i also make sure that if i red up twice in a match, i don't panic....its only like redding up twice in two matches - just have to keep trading as long as your confident in your methods, you have to take losses on the chin. Nobody wins 100% of the time

Chasing is nice when it works, though. Sometimes nicer than if you hadnt had to chase to start with.

patience is great virtue...both in life and betting

Damage control. Bail out of a market when you hit +/- 25% red of your original stake and forget about the match.

Being rational and well disciplined with your decisions is key to long term profit. On a final note - Never get too greedy.
Green = green = money in the bank.
