As somebody made a point of highlighting this criteria lets take a closer look at just what his impact has been since arriving on the scene and nudge the panel into taking notice.

2022 viewing figs 1.72 million, 2023 was 4.8 million. Nearly tripled to watch the kid.

Made forbes best 30 under 30 for Europe

A documentary 1st of its kind commissioned

Dart clubs across the nation opened

Pubs across the nation buying up dartboards

A deal with Panini for trading cards

articles written 100's and 100's, could even be 1000's by now

TV appearances

Commercials

Products

Possible change of venue for worlds to accommodate rise in popularity of sport

A-List support countless celebs following his progress

Dunno if ive missed anything but i'd say the kid has had a fairly decent impact and hits the criteria with ease.

Do remind me what Earps impact on the nation was last year ?

Crucial factor vs Earps comparison - He's not a woman.

He's a tubby beardy male darts player who looks 20 years older than he is. Hence won't appeal to those that voted Earps home.

We all know that as a joke, to take it seriously is very sad and clutching at straws tbh
Report armagnac November 9, 2024 7:41 PM GMT
Your whole Keely argument revolves around clutching at straws tbh, you're hoping for a great VT, and everyone else's is sh1t. you're hoping littler dont get listed. you're hoping he dont get a campaign.

seriously stu, 1.22 shot and its all based on a lot of luck
Report armagnac November 9, 2024 7:44 PM GMT
if you think 1.22 matched makes her a certainty, you have a lot to learn. Worst fav ive seen in a very long time, hence tim being to scared to go max red. layed to many lock ins the poor chap, if he's got sense he'll get it back x10 laying this no hoper

Not too scared, Sir, that's me waiting to lay the 1.2 and 1.16

I really don't think people understand what there witnessing where Littler is concerned, its literally out of this world what he's achieving. The market will wake up sooner or later
Report stu November 10, 2024 12:18 AM GMT
clutching at straws tbh

I leave that to those backing runners who are far bigger odds, I'm all green, ta.

Army is very similar to that **** Rory Stewart and his obsession with Kamila Harris (look up on YouTube It’s funny). She can’t lose it’s impossible Laugh
Had £100k bet on her as well apparently. Peanuts compared with Army and Littler. Same result though.
Report armagnac November 10, 2024 9:05 AM GMT
If you had a brain you'd be laying a good chunk of green right now and making Littler the biggest green you've ever had, either do it and say you have. Coz i don't want any billy bullsh1tting after timing when he absolutely p1sses in.
right now you're clown chimp number 1, stu is number 2 coz at least he's got a small green
Report armagnac November 10, 2024 9:06 AM GMT

Defending champion Humphries loses Grand Slam opener

Defending champion Luke Humphries suffered a shock defeat by Rowby-John Rodriguez in the first round of the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton.

World number one Humphries was beaten 5-3 by Austria's Rodriguez in his first match of the group stage.

He still has to face Mickey Mansell and James Wade in Group A, with Mansell winning that pair's encounter 5-3. The top two players from each group will progress to the knockout rounds.

Meanwhile, teenager Luke Littler raced through his Grant Slam debut by completing a 5-0 victory over Keane Barry in Group F in just over six minutes.

Littler averaged 112.16 in a stunning performance, equalling Phil Taylor's record for the highest average in the tournament.

"I wanted to make a statement. I'm here to win," Littler told Sky Sports.

"I want to top the group. Everyone wants to. There's a little bonus for finishing top, so get out of the group stage and then focus on the first-to-10 legs and hopefully go on and on."

Team GB athletes invited to meet His Majesty The King at Buckingham Palace

Paris 2024 medallists received a royal reception this week as they were invited to meet His Majesty The King at Buckingham Palace.

Team GB, ParalympicsGB and Refugee Olympic Team athletes came together for a reception to celebrate the success of this summer's Games, whilst having the opportunity to meet King Charles III, The Princess Royal and The Duchess of Gloucester.

From rowing, to diving, to artistic gymnastics, Paris 2024 Olympians and Paralympians were front and centre.

Among Team GB's guests were track cyclist Emma Finucane, the only athlete to win three medals for Team GB in Paris; Britain's first sport climbing gold medallist Toby Roberts; artistic swimming silver medallists and history makers Kate Shortman and Izzy Thorpe and Team GB's first ever Olympic medallist on the vault apparatus, Harry Hepworth.

Jacob Dawson, rowing, men's eight gold

Emma Finucane, track cycling, women's team sprint gold, individual sprint bronze and kierin bronze

"It was really special to be recognised as athletes for our success at the Games. I've never been to Buckingham Palace before so it was surreal to be around such inspirational people. Also, to meet the King was something I never thought I'd do and it was such a pinch me moment."

Laura Collett, equestrian, eventing team gold and individual eventing bronze

"It was an absolute honour to be invited to Buckingham Palace to meet the King. It's a privilege to be surrounded by so many incredible athletes and share the brilliance of what Team GB achieved at Paris."

Lewis Richardson, boxing, 71kg bronze

"Being invited to and attending Buckingham Palace to meet his majesty The King was a pinch yourself moment! It was great to see so many of our medallists turn up to the celebration and is certainly another moment (amongst the many from summer) in my life that I will never forget."

Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort hosted a reception for medallists from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games as well as the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in November 2022.

Keely won't be mentioning meeting the king in her VT, Emma will LaughLaugh

No matter how you wanna wash this, its a big negative for her votes and a big positive for Emma. The split vote just got even harder for Keely to overcome.

Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff to present Bullseye reboot

Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff will present a reboot of the darts-themed quiz show Bullseye for ITV.

The former England cricket captain and presenter has signed up for a special Christmas episode.

Flintoff, 46, said Bullseye "was one of my favourite shows as a kid" and added that he "can't quite believe" he has secured the hosting gig.

It is not yet known whether a full series has been commissioned.

Bullseye was originally broadcast on ITV between 1981 and 1995, fronted by the late comedian Jim Bowen.

It features three pairs of contestants, with each team made up of one darts player and one quizzer who work together to win prizes.

The show also had a mascot called Bully, who Flintoff referenced in his hosting announcement.

"You can't beat a bit of Bully!" he said, which was also Bowen's famous catchphrase.

Bullseye often attracted audiences of 20 million during its peak, moving from an initial slot of Monday nights in 1981 to Sunday afternoons in 1982, and then to Saturday afternoons between 1993 and 1995 - when its run ended.

After eleven years off-air, the show returned for a new series in 2006 on the channel Challenge. Old episodes still air on the digital channel each evening.

Not much is known about whether the format for Bullseye will remain the same, but darts is certainly having a renaissance in 2024.

It has been helped by big personalities in the professional darts world, such as 17-year-old Luke Littler, who won the World Series of Darts finals earlier this year.
