Keely's win was predicted, she was a strong fav and won very easily. All in all the race was pretty boring to watch, not very exciting and least of all dramatic. So lets take a look at her rivals for the award !
Sarah Storey - Really dramatic win
Britain's Sarah Storey has won a record-breaking 19th Paralympic gold medal, as she claimed another win in the cycling road race.
Storey was one of the leaders throughout the 71km race, before a thrilling sprint finish with French rider Heidi Gaugain.
Storey edged clear of Gaugain in the final corners, before crossing the line just inches ahead of her rival for a dramatic victory.
Dame Sarah punched the air in celebration as she crossed the line before hugging her 10-year-old daughter who was watching with the rest of the family.
“It’s really amazing," Storey said. "I’m just delighted my wheel was in front at the finish."
Tom Pidock - Wow, that's dramatic
Britain's Tom Pidcock defied a puncture to retain his Olympic mountain bike title in astonishing fashion in Paris.
The world champion, who turns 25 on Tuesday, edged out Victor Koretzky with remarkable skill, having once trailed the French rider by as much as 40 seconds.
His fourth-lap puncture, while leading the race, looked to have ended Pidcock's chances, but he again demonstrated his generational talent on the mountain bike to move his way back up the standings.
Having caught Koretzky by the start of the final lap, he proved his mettle when the Frenchman sprung a surprise attack in the closing stages to take the lead again.
Pidcock ruthlessly found a different line through the trees with his superb bike-handling skills as he edged ahead and then came off best after brief contact between the pair.
"The Olympics is so special, you never give up, you give everything, and that is what I had to do," Pidcock told BBC Sport.
"I knew that Victor was going to be fast in the last lap even if I couldn't get rid of him.
"I knew it was going to be a big fight, and he left a gap and I had to take it. That's racing. I know people might view it differently but sport is about not giving up."
Alex Yee
GB's Yee wins triathlon gold after thrilling sprint
Great Britain’s Alex Yee produced a sensational sprint finish to claim Olympic triathlon gold
In a dramatic conclusion on the banks of the River Seine, Yee upgraded his Tokyo silver as he overhauled rival Hayden Wilde in the closing stages.
Yee, 26, crossed the line after one hour 43 minutes 33 seconds to finish six seconds clear of New Zealand's Wilde, who won bronze three years ago and looked set to triumph after opening a 15-second lead on the run.
However, Yee displayed his class to time his finish to perfection after being led out superbly on the bike leg by team-mate Sam Dickinson, who sacrificed himself to aid Yee's bid.
"I’m so grateful to everyone who's been in my corner for the past three years. That was for them," Yee told BBC Sport.
"At 5km [on the run leg] I was going through a really bad patch and with 2.5km to go I thought 'I'm going to give myself one last chance at this and not give up', and here we are."
In comparison this is what was written about Keely
Great Britain's Keely Hodgkinson dominated the Olympic 800m final to win gold in Paris and end her wait for a global title.
On paper it looks good, yeah she smashed her rivals and won very easily. But on the night when the other VT's are shown and you have to vote. Its those other stories of guts and glory that really shine through and motivate people to really pick up the phone and vote.
The split vote i've been banging on about is staring you right in the face, obviously that don't include Emma who's achievements all year have been amazing. Who is a similar age to Keely and will surely take even more voted off the fav with her record breaking 3 medals at the same games.
Going back to dramatics, if Lando pulls of the F1 title then Keely cannot possibly win anyway. That would just top the bill as dramatics go....and then there's Littler who has been breaking records all year, scoring 9 darters in finals and smashing averages week in week out. Destroying world champions and having a winning leg record verses every single other pro he's played at least twice.
One of the reasons that the price is correct is that there is an expectation that the BBC will want it, and give her a great vt and either pimp slot or 2nd from last.

Yes i was expecting that regardless, but when you look at the others. Its impossible for them not to get great VT's as well given how they won. Plus in Emma's case, she is european and double world champion, broke 3 records on the same day in the team sprint and won team at worlds. Added with being a history maker, not done since Mary Rand in 64.
Keely's great VT will not stand out, thats the whole point !!!!!!

What the BBC want and what the public vote is two completely different things, i don't see how on earth they can shaft the other runners given how they won and what they won. OK they can put some decent close ups in, with some tears and music and not put much effort into the rest. But your backing a 1.39 shot coz YOU think they want Keely to win, feck me thats expensive guess work

I see I've been mentioned on a few threads, didn't know where to respond but, seeing as army dedicated the OP to me, plumped for this one
stu; thanks for the complimentary post
army; yes we've been on some wonderfully memorable campaigns together, looking forward to many more, and I think if you were playing BB, we'd be together again on Lilly
army and GB; as previously posted, I've not been follwing events, just playing the market, but most of my plays have been based on your arguments on here over the last few months, so thanks to you both for my being so happy with my book
For the record, I took a chance, had a go at phucking things up today, laying the last bits of 7.x Nando as he got beaten to the first corner, after that jump start thingy, then took the last bits of 9.x Luke as the race finished; net result being Keely slightly less green, but Luke four times a bigger green than her. Ok army, it's not the same as laying her to max red, but still most definitely leaves me with you in wanting Luke

Aye aye happy days tim, i've got a good feeling were bringing home the bacon. She's now 1.30 with the demise of Nando, crazy crazy no value whatsoever. The drift will commence at some point.......

The problem with this theory is that all the cyclists will blend in the memory, with the only real blue ribband athletics girl as the standout from these stories.
Unless, they thin down and ignore some of the cyclist options, which looks slightly less likely given they were all pretty much winners.

Only if they do 8 noms, i see a big name paying the price like Kerr did. Im fully expecting trampoline girl or rock climber...maybe both but former far more likely. we'll get two cyclists, and maybe Storey probably
