Now red bull have no idea what is wrong with the car, why its fallen back so much. Made slight changes for this weekend but what really stands out is there is a 4 week gap between Singapore and the US races and a 3 week gap between Brazil and Las Vegas.
Surely that's two chances to figure out exactly what is going on or at least get back on level performance with McLaren.
It certainly plays into the hands of red bull and makes Lando's job even tougher to claw back that lead.
Then last weekends qualifying at Monza saw the 1st 6 cars all covered by less than two tenths of a second. With Max a third of second behind the leader having been poor through qualification.
But does the overall picture suggest Ferrari and Mercedes are more hurdles for Lando to navigate. The closer these cars get to each other the more chance of trouble during the race.
Have to see how the qualifying goes tomorrow but after last week and the long breaks between races it appears to me Lando's job is not quite as easy as the market suggests.

Considering that was supposedly Red Bull's worse circuit, to limit it to 7 points was more than we could of hoped for. Perez hinted that a couple of the remaining races would potentially be good for them. Surely at some point Max will finish ahead of Lando, a month off to figure some stuff out now.

How much of a saver do you have on lando? (in terms of % of the lukey green)
It would be a safer route to a win for me, but kinda hope we see plan a back in action
Lando winning would not sit well, am obviously new to watching F1 this intently but considering performance on pole 1st laps and the amount of mistakes he makes. Even with this biggest comeback scenario, he would be most undeserving imo. Take Max today, hardest track all year and raced to perfection.

The margins today were so fine, twice he touched barrier..someone else a fraction more and got a flat lol

yeah were gonna get a few races where Lando and Max finish down the order where the points gaps are smaller, there all saying its Max's to lose still. Not Lando's to win. So its all uphill really

Well this explains a lot, two different set ups in Baku explains why Max was way off the pace. Just bad luck Perez had the better upgrade.

It was a really strange race regarding Mclaren's performance, of the top cars they were the only ones that were flying on hard tyres, in the cool off area the podium boys were all saying how tough it was on the hards. Whereas Norris mentioned he really struggled on the mediums and they were getting away from him.

Lando was so timid yesterday. I think he knows he's never winning any titles like that. Even if mac are way out in front next season i think Piastri will shove him out of the way
Lando didn't like the 1st bend question and the fact its a big weakness for him, he quickly talked the reporter down
Ferrari are now a big danger in the constructors, so i cant see team orders counting for much anymore
Leclerc is only 22 points off Lando now, wow. I don't think he'll even finish 2nd, another Ferrari performance like that next weekend and he'll be triple figures for SPOTY.

Lack of experience at the critical points of a race and not a superstar young driver who can push on now he has the car.
Not aggressive enough, not confident enough and makes far too many mistakes....its sad to sit and watch the British presenters/experts make excuses for him and make out he's the next best thing in F1.
He does not have what it takes to win a world title and probably never will, Colapinto and Lawson will push him aside within a couple of years. They are the next stars

He lost two titles when Rosberg and Max outdid him on that. The best he could do was deliberately push max off at Silverstone in a highly dangerous move, got him a 10 second penalty, should have been a suspension tbh

Lando's luck finally ran out, post race saying Max's win was luck and no talent..bitter brat from someone whose mistakes reared up again. Its not very often i go against Brits in any sport, obvious reasons for SPOTY but after following this sport for a little while. I quite like it now and next season without SPOTY i'm gonna find it hard cheering Lando on, not sure he's talented enough myself !
