Emily was called bottom two when trading as second favourite in the winners market, then Fleur the next night when she was trading as second favourite. It seems to me these filthy insiders were trying to get their prices to drift. Having already smashed into Harry they were looking for some cheap savers on the two they were giving most airtime in an effort to get a female to the final two.

Tim, can I ask what you mean by 'protected'? I don't watch this show or get involved in any way at all but I am interested in the machinations which can apply to all these shows. If you mean what I think you mean, I am possibly of the opposite opinion.

Squares, I used the word about two of them, don`t know which you`re asking about? If Anne; It had been almost accepted fact that the B2s being called were true; when Emily was named B2, after having a great show, I and some others posted our suspicions. The next night, Fleur`s B2 also didn`t seem feasible, and I put forward a theory that TPTB had felt obliged to resort to fake B2s, purely in order to protect Anne`s potentially fragile state of mind.
If Fleur; That was just a lazy use of the same word, replying to MMM`s feeling that she had been unfairly called B2 in other occasions.

I keep up a little but on SM and the media (you can't miss it).
My take was that not putting someone in the bottom 2 who was in the bottom 2 keeps their vote low and gives them no uplift, and I believe Rita and particularly Anne (who I believe prods had to persuade not to leave) were extremely keen to leave. Many of those not called B2 who were B2 left the next vote.
Also, it looks like those Fake B2s did get some degree of uplift.
Just some random thoughts anyway.

We weren`t told until a few days ago that Anne had wanted to walk, on a number of occasions, early on. This knowledge makes any protection more likely and, if Rita had expressed similar wishes, would also explain her name not being called when she was B2.

Anyone recall roughly what the historical stats are for:-
a) the odds-on favourite drifting out again beyond, say, 3s (or someone else going odds-on) but then going on to win?
b) the odds-on favourite being turned over late into the show or on the final night?
David Guest being beaten by Matt Willis (at 100-1 the previous night!) springs to mind but he was a weird favourite all along. Tony Blackburn I think was a surprise winner.

The only fave I can think of drifting out and then going on to win was Scarlett. Mark Wright was 1/4 iirc in the final against Dougie and Joey Essex and Jimmy Bullard were both odds on during the show. Johnny Rotten was fave when he walked out (about 6/4 iirc) the year Kerry won. I do believe he would have gone odds on and got beat had he stayed.

Ashley Roberts was odds on and the market flip flopped during the final when Ant n Dec said the lead had changed. Charlie Brooks may have been the opening day fave. Not sure.

Cheers tim for mentioning my thread, seen you've done it several times recently. I sometimes think it must be invisible to half the forum.
(BTW, it's only for the last six series)

During any given series, I`ll check the relevant Pricewatch thread maybe 15 or 20 times; best threads on here, they deserve as many mentions as are needed for all readers to be aware, and make use of, them.
