"Toxic" tonight - another great, fast song about to have it's life sucked out of it. So no.

But Emily is cute and characterful and different and Scottish and the most popular Girl. So yes.

No, yes, no, yes, no, yes?

love to see her in rock week with a fender strat, doing joan jett or patti smith.......rather than as henners says taking pop songs and turning them into a plinky plink ballad

Scottish is a bonus, not the sole Scot in the comp though, there was a girl on he voice a few years ago (Frances Wood) wore a hat all the time, she was "characterful" very popular on here.
Mems have not taken to this type of runner in the past.
Frances Wood performs 'Where is the Love?' - The Voice UK
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6vGSTCdKgk

The voice have been down this road a few times with talented quirky young slim females/ Bo Bruce,  Leah McFall, Bonker Becky and  Sophie May Williams.
Xfactor has had Janet Devlin and Ella Henderson.
The voteability is usually a lot less than the talent deserves.

Happy to take over this train if it's driverless Grin

Lots of positives for Emily.....and tbf one obvious negative.

On the plus side she's perhaps the most likeable person this show has seen for a very long time.Cute as a button and with the added bonus of having a strong national vote.

The obvious negative is whether her "quirky" style will ever produce a winner of one of these shows

Given her 6CC performance from 2 years ago,I reckon she will be more than capable of producing some good performances when she's not stationary playing the guitar.Interesting to watch her on Xtra last night when she said her performance of Toxic will be with the guitar, but don't expect that every week.

Current price of 5.5 isn't exactly screaming value, but at this stage she looks the most likely winner IMO and I'd rather be a backer than a layer.Have to assume at this stage it's a field of 12 with 2 virtual NR's in the joke acts, and a fair number of extremely unlikely winners.

Time to resurrect this train as the surrogate driver.

Has to be said Emily has had a slow start in the first 3 live shows.Worryingly her treatment in the first 2 looked like that of an unflavoured act.Week 3 though saw a fair degree of positivity for her, despite being asked to perform another slowed down track.

If Matt is going to get beat, she looks the most viable option.Still high on likability with the fabled Scottish vote behind her,her treatment over the next couple of weeks will be the make or break.

Interestingly she has just tweeted a positive message about this week's song choice.....the first time this series she has expressed any degree of support for the song chosen for her.

Nice reprieve they gave her on Saturday. Now back to undermining I reckon. Cowell clearly doesn't want her.

What do we reckon they originally intended for her with this production? "Creep" finished off Wagner and sitting on the floor is not good for vocal projection but it worked out well for her in the end.

Any particular reason you feel they originally intended something different from what actually materialised H ?
By:

They must have realised during rehearsals that it was going to be good. But the lyrics and the depressive nature of Creep and her sitting blood-splattered on the floor makes me suspect that it wasn't originally intended to be good.

However they were always going to give her, and Ryan, good comments this week, after Ryan went to The Sun, and The Sun portrayed him very sympathetically when they have portrayed previous dissidents as moaners.

And interestingly The Sun and others are now mentioning XF's de-ramping tricks.

I'm pretty sure not too much happens by accident on XF.

I think the whole set up including the terrific VT and the black & white film being projected in the background indicated a degree of planning.

I'm sure most missed it,but the whole concept of the performance showed plenty of pre planning to me.

Quite tepid this week for Emily, but the market is hugely respecting her chance, especially after Matt getting a slight momentum check.

DISCO week next week.....will this be the week she does something upbeat ?

She cant not be Id say and they have built a narrative with Rylan over the weeks where she needs to and Im guessing she will smash it.

This was her 2 years ago

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vj7lIrmWa5U

Kinda crap but she is better now.

Also her songs the last 2 weeks have been so slow that even something like this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xp6czla-188

Could be seen as upbeat

I think we will see something in between the 2 next week

Her price is silly though, 5am were 30ish pre show, people talk alot about ramps and deramps Sara has or hasnt been all series, even her embassy thing was meant to be now she is odds on.

we had the nicest person left normal down to earth, singing with kids and shaking hands with them after getting a bad review by the judges and then saying its all about christmad and the kids.

All in all price is too big and the market is spooked this year

Been topping up on emily tonight and now watching back just the songs no intos or judges comments Emilys first song was good but all the points where she struggled had a distraction.

Her best bits had close ups of her, her worst had close up of the kids.

You listen to it without a video prob sounds bad.

It just doesnt seem like a deramp to me

The awful judges comments for her first song and the staging for her second song were certainly a de-ramp. However I enjoyed Mad World maybe more than all the others' second songs, but going on FB and YT it seems it was only preferred 3rd out of the 4, beating just 5am.
