I was intrigued by Corby's Belarus 12, so watched it and realised that it was one of the few I've never bothered to watch the official version of. It's not quite as disastrous as I remembered but the graphics backdrop looks like something his grandmother did on a Commodore 64.

Interesting Belarus fact: their broadcaster can't afford anything so Ivan is footing the bills himself.

Moldova, the other little ex Soviet that can't quite give up Stalinism. The boys even look alike. And buying their way in to an impoverished country's selection still produces something more interesting than the BBC can come up with.

While I hated Michał Spaz, Poland "Color Of Your Life" because he defeated the probable ESC winner, it's actually quite good, even if old fashioned and not advancing ESC in any way.

His YT views (add up all the different iterations) are excellent and one of the best (still not a patch on "Cool Me Down" YT views).

The funny thing about this year that if Russia, for whatever as yet unknown reason, fails to get the winning votes there are quite a few that could sneak in.
Report Corbyguy April 1, 2016 3:03 PM BST
If Russia draws 2nd half for the final then the price could well likely shorten. If Russia draws 1st half then the price could stay the same or drift slightly. The favourite for the last 2 years have drawn 1st half for the final so the odds look good for Russia drawing 2nd half but the odds are roughly 50/50 depending on how many slots for 1st and 2nd half are left in the pot when Russia draw after the semi final.

If Russia do draw 1st half then the organisers may not want to place it near Sweden their closest rivals in the betting so a 12 or 13 slot could be likely or if the organisers want to open the show with an uptempo number they could give the opening slot to Russia which will keep it faraway from Sweden as possible whilst in the first half. I doubt that the organisers will give Russia the opening slot as this could diminish their chance of winning unless of course they want to shaft Russia's chance of winning. The organisers could give Russia a 4 to 6 slot if they don't want to give Russia the opening slot or a slot later than Sweden if in first half.

Everyone will of course be watching the performance of Russia in the 1st semi final and if it is a brilliant performance then the price will likely shorten and if its not then the price will likely drift but the chance of Russia winning will of course come down to their performance and final draw number position in the final unless something else effects their chance.

I know there's the possibility of some fancy graphics which would make the performance look rather more contemporary, but nothing confirmed, I don't think.

Rumour has it that he will be going to perform and stage in the contest as the same in the video and if true then there will be overhead camera work and visual graphics on the flooring and projection screen with a female on stage early beginning with dancers towards the end.

Rumoured where corby?
He seems very keen on slightly camp, 90's style, 2nd rate boyband routines. I'm not sure why he'd change a winning formula Wink

Yes it will probably just be an overhead bit at the start, if that. Something I've noticed tonight updating YT stats is that normally when something is mega in video form people flock to see the live version when it comes out. Russia's live version came out 5 days ago and has relatively few views, suggesting people don't like the staging.

His 90's nonsense does work for him in Russia but maybe doesn't cross borders.

Russia will win henry, they are throwing loads of dosh at it, and with a guaranteed 100 pts headstart, in a year without a standout song, I don't see anything beating it.

I am dead nuts against Sweden, I will be laying it top 3, top 5 etc, a singer without personality.

if Iceland can qualify for the final, on the basis of the visual presentation and that it may stick out in the public memory, I think it has legs to finish in the top ten and 4/1 is a fair punt.
Bulgaria with a late final draw should top ten as well. On the outright, France is hardest to figure out, it may struggle with a jury vote.
