For what its worth I think Strictly could be a bit of value in the outright at around 10/1, would want a bit more than 4/1 in the 'without' market though.. where Eastenders is the obvious favourite..

Regardong XMAS number 1.. its been like a 'head bobber' on the run in at a horse race.. both been well odds on.. it probably depends on how much spin and hype on TV /Press the NHS choir gets over next 2 days... anyone know plans ? If theres enough, then 2/1 would nstill be big..

If Christmas number one single is obviously going one way... looks like NHS choir, then this market could get some attention as its literally all done on Chrismas Day so can be bet up to midnight on Christmas Eve..

I feel MBB is a vulnerable favourite atc.

FYI PP are settling based upon the consolidated figures.

Notice they bother writing some rules for this market these days, after ripping off customers by not having any rules about 'overnights' previously. Still leaves a bitter taste does that year.

Interesting on both last texts... Hills USED to settle on consolidated figures and it cost myself and a mate over 10k one year when Men Behaving Badly won overnights and got headlines but Eastenders overtook it on consolidated... where video playbacks were added... was a joke change...ludicrous amount of extra 'recorded' Eastenders viewings, went to IBAS to no avail !

hmmm , yes, well I did manage to share some NHS winnings...(touch wood)hard to believe it was still 2/1 in a place this morning...I will be straight .. my tip has been Strictly Xmas special to a few colleagues and have backed at 16s 14s and now 10s ... The 10s is still available with a few books and I think it will go close..later time slot than last year, as someone mentioned, plus viewing figres trending well for latest series v last year and hopefully the final Downton Abbey could pinch enough viewers off Eastenders and Mrs B B to help it win.

Its no certainty but at 10/1 it almost certainly is value....

The rules don't state whether +1 and HD is included if it is Corrie is worth a small bet at the long odds. It was highest rated show last night with +1 and HD included.

Actually the rules do mention simulcast brodcasts not counting towards average, i guess that would mean the +1 channel.

Does anyone fancy the queen to do well ,, the odd bookies are combining both bbc and itv figures ,the fact she won combined last year 14/1 seems big this year both channels combined ?

Viewing figures were down last year my theory is most now have recording sky boxes or similar and record things like eastenders and mrs browns boys but anyone watching the queen will watch it live .

Yes there was a bit, the queen had not topped the day for years but dont forget it only topped things with both channels , whereas most bookies and betfair exchange have channel broadcasts  as separate ITV and BBC for queen

Don`t watch tv, but left a few bets up, see what was taken, and hope for the best. Only three bits matched; 10.0 SCD (happy with that, as all the shrewdies seem to be on), 160 CTM (no idea if that`s value or not), and laid MBB at 1.53 (gotta take on these shorties!)

The Queen's Speech simulcast on BBC1 and ITV1 is the most watched TV programme on Christmas Day

The Queen has won the Christmas TV ratings battle with an overall audience of 7.82 million, broadcast simultaneously on BBC1 and ITV at 3pm, with Mrs Browns Boys second in the overnight figures with 7.61 million as figures overall fell on last year.

According to figures released by the Broadcasters' Audience Research Board (BARB), including both the Queen’s Speech and Mrs Brown’s Boys, of the 10 most watched programmes on Christmas Day, BB1 broadcast seven with Eastenders (7.55 million), Strictly Come Dancing (6.98 million), Call the Midwife (6.83 million) and Doctor Who (6.34 million).

The Queen attracted 5.71 million viewers on BBC 1, but only 2.11 on ITV.

Aside from broadcasting the Queen’s speech, ITV’s best watch programme for the day was Coronation Street (6.41 million), then Emmerdale (5.53 million) and the final episode of Downton Abbey  (5.52 million) which was the 10th most watched show of the day.

This is I think official  ... Taking out the Queen as was 6.1 m on BBC for purposes of market , result is  1) 6.6m Downton 2) 6.5m Strictly  3 6.4m  Mrs Browns Boys  4  ) 6.4 m Stick Man 
Personally am gutted re Strictly... the 'final Downton did knock enough out of MBB and Eastenders to help Strictly top BBC but managed to nick in 0.1 m above it ...  Damn...

You got the value atc. Long term, that`s all that`s necessary, just gotta take the losers along the way.

Cheers TIm, though this is disppointing... ITV 'never' tops it..as a rule, Downton 10th last year... The 'final episode' thing has turned it probably helped by a fairly poor Call the midwife on BBC leading up to Eastenders etc , 0.1 m on sample could be a couple of homes viewing only in reality on sample ...   I feel strangely upbeat but its a sod really..

kh99 yes l was backing the queen at 8/1 during the week ,, hardly put any more when they pushed it to 14/1 as l was starting to doubt myself
as l didnt read anywhere that someone fancied her to do well.

My angle behind it was and I think Im right now is that with recordable boxes less people watch tv on the day as they have all their programmes recorded , but nobody would record the queen to watch it later any boyles adding both channels was key with their rule of settling it on 26/12/2015
