No hopers a bit harsh but going by popera history on this I wouldn't be surprised if it bombed. Finland tonight showed what happens when you go too far outside the ESC bubble.

Report wisewords May 20, 2015 12:01 AM BST
no offence intended by this comment, but that performace/song by Finland was dreadful.

Report George Bailey May 20, 2015 12:03 AM BST
To be truly politically correct you had to judge Finland same as others. Any sympathy votes would have been patronising. That said I enjoyed it more than some that qualified...but I am an old punk myself.
Report wisewords May 20, 2015 12:04 AM BST
yup. I judged them on their performance and the quality of their song. I prompty layed them @ 1.9 to qualify as it finished.

Report wisewords May 20, 2015 12:07 AM BST
He won some Swedish contest to represent them. his song sounds a bit like 'Lovers on the sun' by Guetta. his song is meant to have an impressive lightshow / visuals. he's good looking to attract the females? what else?

Finland were getting a LOT of 16th places on those youtube Favourite Song videos. Suggested there was nothing in the zeitgeist for them.

Is there an historical link between downloads and outcome? Will yesterday's semi be caught by this before Saturday? I see Estonia doing best and I can see people listening to this on their ipod but I thought it came across dull last night. Russia doing well but mostly with their neighbours who will vote for them anyway. Belgium like Estonia...one to listen to more than watch. I guess familiarity with the song helps rather than hinders. Wonder how Conchita did given it was a bit of a late arrival to the party.

Agree Gb re Italy. I mean I actually like a lot of popera but this one left me cold. Too slow an intro

This performance?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOGdsrgEJpA

Rules made to be broken hemsby I guess but for me its worthy but ultimately dull. For some reason I backed them a while back at skimpy odds on the HS (4/1) so a small green for me but I hope trends do for them. I can see them drifting.

Spain no chance of course but might nick a few votes off Russia. I have translated the song and its something like "Manchester is a sh1thole and if you don't move to Real you can forget having any more backdoor boogie for a while".....should have sang it in English.
