Karis needs to cut the uptempo and go with the slower stuff. This competition is too short for showcasing a different side. She should just do what she's best at. I still think she's a dark horse. Wait til she sings an Amy Winehouse song. The ground will tremble.

I realise we've probably got very cynical about these shows, but I thought tonight's show was absolutely awful. Poor singing, poor performances, unsuitable song choices, half asleep judges. Months of prep and probably a huge budget and 100+ people working together to produce that garbage.

I thought they attempted to "Jazz it up" a bit tonight,with better staging,backing dances etc.Not sure it worked though really,I still enjoyed it,but was disappointed by the general standard.It just looks very wooden and unrehearsed when compared to XF,but for some reason I prefer it.....I think I've just grown very weary of XF,with all its manipulations.

It wasn't great cider. Definitely some bad song choices but some pretty decent performances. Just a shame my favourite 2 went out

100% agree cider. Watching it delayed on sky+ and just seen will taking about 5 minutes to choose his save and not even knowing what the rules are. An absolute shambles. And some of the arrangements of the songs absolutely massacred them. No wonder the judges looked so bored for most of it. Actually makes u appreciate x factor!? (Almost)

It's so unprofessional compared to XF. And SCD tbf. I feel the judges are very week in comparison. It's a charisma bypass area.

Clark and howard not winning their group was bad for me, only Vikesh running for me in group betting

Howard  going bad for me too, one of only two decent greens. Have laid so many bits and pieces of most of the rest of them that Stevie, my first max red, has ended up a moderate green. Still don`t like him, he`s a pure fraud with the way he`s so knowing about RTV stuff. Left a bit of 2.2 up, if it`s taken, so be it.
Still think that Lucy singing something with a vaguely religious tint to it will romp it, in the style of Andrea Begley.

I think Stevie is going to be very difficult to beat.I've just got a feeling though that he isn't the prods ideal winner,so it will be interesting to see his treatment next week.

Possibly that our expectations were too high I suppose.....will have another listen.

I just think the arrangement of the song was very fragmented,it seemed to stall at certain points,where they've had to chop a 4 minute song almost in half.Still think he looked a little awkward and uncomfortable tonight also,he very rarely performs without his guitar.What he does have in bucket loads though is believability when he sings,I find his performances incredibly passionate,and that's what resonates with people that like him I think.

The BBC control freaks need to hand the fates of the acts to the public a lot sooner if they want to establish any kind of bonding between viewer and winner.

Very good point Bails,the opportunity to connect with any act is truncated enormously by the current format.

And even more importantly it would mean more betting opportunities

Solo songs and singing with coaches next weekend.

Good for Tom and Sasha to be just a duo.

Will with his three very different acts could be a bit of a mess.

I agree. Crazy that they only have 3 live shows. 7m+ last night, which is very good these days
I don't enjoy the auditions for any of these shows. It's probably one of the reasons why strictly is my favourite show.

Vikesh Champaneri performed on The Voice UK last night despite family heartbreak at home.


The 19-year-old was set to sing for his mum at last night’s first live show, but she couldn’t make it after suffering a stroke.

“My parents were due to come to the first live show but my mum had a stroke so it wasn’t possible,” he said. “My cousins and aunt took their place.

“That shows my family has a sense of solidarity. They really support me.”

Back in the battles and Vikesh was alone as he performed, admitting that his family were not at first supportive of him auditioning for the show.

He explained: “My family were dismissive of The Voice at first but now they’re on board.



“And having my mum and dad’s support has helped me a lot throughout the competition.”

Speaking to the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper, Vikesh told how a divorce battle between his now separated parents saw him turn to music.

“It was difficult in the sense that as a child you start to think ‘Do I have to choose between my parents?’. And that’s the one thing I didn’t want to have to do,” he recalled. “Music was something I turned to. It helped me feel better about things.”

Vikesh was even bullied at school after his parent’s split, saying: “Music was there when I didn’t have a friend. I’d listen to the meaning. It was an escape route.”

It's still a decent measure,as long as you monitor it closely and subtract the hacking additions.FWIW Stevie was leading Emmanuel by 4% before the shenanigans .

Amazed they are paying for it and can't see the obvious. Will tweet the 4% to them.

Belated welcome to knowledgepays. 22 posts in 10 years, pretty much all on this thread. The more viewpoints the better.

It's like XF, they think they're making a better show but in fact are making a worse show. The fat contestant had the best voice in the comp, made me look up, and then aborted the song and went into all that rap.
