Is it really justified on the basis of the content of Saturday nights show? Was Foggy that appealing on the night? Was Jake that unappealing on the night? He was a but whiny, perhaps, got the Vain award, but was Foggy that strong?
Did I miss something?
Order of VT suggests that Jake well ahead on votes preceding Saturday night. Foggy may well have been trailing even Mel in votes preceding Sat nite. Lines closing straight after Jakes VT may have decimated his votes on the nght.
Is the flip flop a result of inside money?
Considering leveling up my book that favours Jake/Foggy 2 to 1. Or at least partly. Gun to head, I still think Jake is a worthy winner and more likely. Not even totally convinced Foggy is beating Mel, her popularity baffles me.
there has been several occasions the cash has been spot on this series, but nothing blatant. if someone has some knowledge there using very professionally in the market and not making it obvious as we have seen in the past. being the biggest conspiracy theorist on the forum, i'd say there is a possibility of this coz if i had this knowledge i'd play the market very carefully to no arouse suspicion.
think you have to take into consideration foggy has never been rewarded by his country for services to his sport. which in the bike community leaves a very bitter taste, was speaking to an enthusiast just yesterday about this. the bike community on the whole is pretty dam big and i'd say extremely loyal and will be watching too see how foggy is doing.
his 10 star win in that tough challenge would of won him many fans imo also, who were fence sitters at that stage not knowing who to side with. he's not done a lot around camp tbh, but for the 3 left he seems the default winner if anything else.
ive mentioned on several occasions this week about jake's behavior around camp, for me he has been quite snappy especially when he thinks he's being made too look stupid/bad, as he fully knows this is his one chance to make it in the 'business' he's looking desperate to grab his once chance and comes across as trying too hard. i dont blame him, but i think we've seen the real jake a few times this week and he does not look a nice person like the contrived effort we have been seeing. maybe its just me, or maybe finally others are now seeing this too.
the nobody factor is not as strong as once was either, as said a portion of the nation are getting fed up with these wannabe's being forced down our necks in this time of reality overload.
foggy is a true champion and celebrity. with a very loyal following
he's certainly a good enough default winner with what we have left jake just does not quite cut the mustard for me

Why the flip flp last night after the show? One imagines it had to relate to the content of that particular show? I just didn't see enough to justify it.

It was quite a substantial (ish) flip flop..normally you can relate these back to a moment or an incident. I cant really see one.
Did Edwina going affect Jakes chances? Again, cant really see it?
They are both fine, Jake is a young good looking kid who has come across very well, if overly flirtatious. Foggy is an older more solid type, perhaps less entertaining and a less prominent figure in the show, but solid.
Does the X Factor crew tuning in straight after not help Jake? Is Sunday night not a better night for Jake with younger voters more likely to be at home than Friday/Saturday nights?

Why the flip flop, I don't think last nights show was great for jake at all, during the show I and a few others posted that they had backed jake to get booted last night.

How much of that was down to the fact that the lines closed straight after his VT? I don't think he had a great show either, Foggy marginally better, but not enough to change the odds to such an extent.

10mins in so far. foggy comes out with a great line about still being in the jungle 5 years later after failing to readjust too life outside. while jake is crying and saying he cant believe people want him to do well. contrived sh1te from jake great humour from foggy

It comes down to likeability again (which Edwina always lacked). Jake's OK but he's not funny, a bit insecure, annoying voice, bit whiny.
Foggy ticks all the boxes for the type of person who wins this show. Solid bloke, no-nonsense, but with a fun sense of humour and not afraid to laugh at himself and gives his all in trials. Also we know he has a soft centre as we saw when he saw his wife at the pool. He's definitely been making more effort the last few days to be funny, sometimes just little things like a cheeky look/comment in the diary room or more obvious like flashing his bum yesterday. Even accidental things like when he ran to the phone box and fumbled the receiver can endear him to the public. He's just more natural than Jake who's being too much of a try-hard.
Mel I can't decide. She was my pick at the start of the show at 16/1, again I thought she was the right personality type and I still think that. It's just a shame she struggled so much with hunger in the middle portion of the show that she was permanently grumpy for about a week. Good news is she seems to have come out of that funk now and is back to her usual smiley self. If she could have kept that going all the way through I think she would have hosed up, but who knows how much support she's lost for good for that moody spell.
My pick would be Foggy to win, Mel second and Jake third.

11 mins in edwina commenting about jake in 5 years time, eddie talks about rooney having a 3 parts to his book or summit and mentioning paul o grady. foggy jumps in and says but he had talent jake laughs it off saying 'who paul o grady' no he was on about you jake

What a lot of people are missing is the bond that Jake and Mel have made in the camp.
Mel, with all of her faults, is in the final, if she is 3rd the lines will stay open! Carl might be winning the PV (I'm not convinced) but insiders can't count transference votes if Mel gives her support to Jake.

Also, that VT for Carl was pretty bad. He started the show as a rich, flash guy driving in on his Ferrari. We have all seen the real genuine side to him but he is still a bit flash on the outside. Jake has nothing in the real world and deserves a shot.

42mins in - good vt for jake, did show him flirting with all the females, some may frown upon that especially after him sacking his girlfriend just before going in. 2 points for me

Just watched last nights episode.....must say it was the most enjoyable one all series I thought.Good fun trial, plus some nice interaction between the remaining 4 with no animosity.Couldn't really say it favoured any of the remaining 3 though, all came across really well I thought.

well we now know what caused the drift and as surmised it wasn't last nights show.
thankfully I leveled on my green on the two boys, but it does leave a bit of a bad taste. Though I suppose we know what we are up against in these markets.

Yep, Edit Insiders, knowing which person had the "eating trial". At least Jake and Carl were close in the polls. The biggest travesty ever was when A&D arranged for their mate Matt Willis to win by giving him the "eating trial" when Myleene Klass was about 30% ahead of Matt in the polls- more manipulated than X Factor IMO.

Poor old Jake and Mel must have thought "you lucky bast**d you've got the eating trial and won the show"- but grinned and bared it for the sake of the cameras.
