I effectively lost (only buttons like)in the period where I didn't know and other people betting in the market did know but I don't hold a grudge.  It's not what you'd want but it's how it has to be.

Same here, I had £30 on him roughly 10 minutes before the news started to come out. Tragic for Craig Charles but just unlucky for punters. Saying that I would not grumble if Betfair decided to void all bets...

I read about this online.  Betfair should void.  Then again if Craig come back, he'll almost certainly win it.

Could say the same about people playing the stock markets post 9/11 or 7/7.

Even if you feel supremely sad about the situation, life for you goes on and rational financial decisions must be made. Letting yourself be financially burnt doesn't help anyone.

If you're worried about the money you're taking off people then you're on the wrong website imo..

SHould have closed and voided market opened up a new one with any other as a runner.

I think voiding the market would allow everyone that fecked up their trading to make money out of Craig's grief.

It would be hard for Betfair to call it right on something like this really.

Initially i would have agreed with a suspension, but I doubt betfair can employ someone to actively watch every market 24/7

Everyone knows the risks and as unsavoury as it may seem, such is life.

More interference will favour no one in the end, no markets on BB eviction before voting still annoys me

Lets just be grateful that the market seems squeaky clean this year

It's sad for Craig and his family but it's a total non issue for Betfair.

Betfair will not void or settle bets on individual runners unless this market as a whole is voided or settled. Customers are entirely responsible for their bets at all times. All bets stand run or not.
