Was noticeable when I watched today,Cowell's annoyance when Mel accused Fleur of cheating...I may sound naïve,but it didn't looked scripted and he looked genuinely put out.
Report five leaves left • October 19, 2014 9:41 PM BST
Chloe was only there to be the Kitty or Weasel figure and she was sh1te at it.
Fleur is someone I'm sure Cowell would like to see win
Report bearcub • October 19, 2014 9:42 PM BST
She won't win by rapping

Loads of stuff off script between the judges I reckon hems. Mel B is impetuous and a loose cannon.
Report hemsby • October 19, 2014 9:43 PM BST
Chloe probably unlucky to be up against SK in the sing off.Despite how bad she was,i still feel they would have saved her against certain other acts

I don't agree bear. Cher did ok and she was extremely unlikable

Chloe's sing off performance must go down as one of the worst if not the worst in the show's history.
Report Cider • October 19, 2014 9:48 PM BST
Fleur's problem is that she was pretty good last night, but not rated in the top half of performances. I can't see her threatening the business end unless she can nail some MOR stuff.

There's no doubt Fleur is right up there in the pecking order. They will have to compromise, that is if she can pull off ballads. I wrote before, but imo if they can get the MOR onside she can then get away with more edgy stuff later on.
Report CLYDEBANK29 • October 19, 2014 10:01 PM BST
1d and Cher were the chosen ones and were relentlessly pushed throughout.  I personally knew someone who was working on the show that year.

Report Cider • October 19, 2014 10:04 PM BST
I think the show has moved on, and they are far more brutal in trying to get people beat now. Nicky's treatment was unbelievable, and Baloney. Marcus was the first one to be treated brutally to help Little Mix over the line.

Can't remember the treatment of anyone being as bad as it was for Nick last year. Even his mentor Louis was pleading for the public to vote for Sam in the final. Disgusting

Nicky was never going to be cool or chart. But neither was SamBa. At the time most of us were baffled why they let him into the lives.

If they hadn't stuck Bex on a cake on the Saturday and given her a decent song, then she could have turned Cardie over Sad
Report Cider • October 19, 2014 10:24 PM BST
My point is the lengths they go to have changed. It was little niggles and digs in Matt's year, now they turn peoples' microphones off. They tried to deramp Matt but he was still flying the vote. Now it's result first and show second.
Report judorick • October 19, 2014 10:25 PM BST
shockingly bad series
Report CLYDEBANK29 • October 19, 2014 10:25 PM BST
They need quality performers to make a fist of the show.  Nicky shone in the auditions and the show needed him but he wasn't good enough/marketable enough, nor did he provide a different storyline for them to be happy for him to win.  Immensely votable and likeable though.  They prolly wanted Tamera to win, but as it turned out she wasn't good enough either and wouldn't have won even if she was.  Sam won and got the prods backing because of her performances, and of course because she represented the only likely way of stopping Nick winning.  Luke Friend was only one or two performances away from changing the script.  Had he been more consistent he would have had a chance.
Report Cider • October 19, 2014 10:25 PM BST
James was treated like the winner his final and the opposition also-rans. I reckon they even would get Matt beat now.

I think they would have a better shot with 1D after learning from Little Mix. As I say, the tactics have changed and they now sacrifice a good show at the cost of achieving the desired result. 1D's appeal was probably always too narrow however.
Report CLYDEBANK29 • October 19, 2014 10:33 PM BST
The biggest stitch up ever was Daniel Debourg singing Build Me Up Buttercup in the second series.  They threw the kitchen sink at Leon and it didn't work.  They've been doing this for years and I don't think they are any more manipulative than they were.  Opening phone lines from the get go makes it less open to manipulation.
Report Cider • October 19, 2014 10:36 PM BST
Leon was before my time I must confess.

And look what's happened CB, two favoured acts in the b3. Bound to be a crisis meeting.
Report CLYDEBANK29 • October 19, 2014 10:40 PM BST
Little Mix had no competition.  It was the weakest collection of male acts by a mile.  (3 puffs who couldn't sing and an anarchist)

That final was incredibly biased and only a 5% swing in it iirc.
Report five leaves left • October 19, 2014 10:44 PM BST
I think I really started to back him after the Britney cover. The Travis version is an awful dirge. Cardie did a very good job with it
Report five leaves left • October 19, 2014 10:46 PM BST
..and when Cowell said he'd do his best to get 1D to the final. I forget which week it was but he'd clearly thrown the towel in and was started pushing Cher more than 1D
Report Cider • October 19, 2014 10:47 PM BST
They did try to nobble Cardle. One particular half memory is a Katy Perry song in luminous green trousers?
Report CLYDEBANK29 • October 19, 2014 10:47 PM BST
I honestly cant remember Marcus getting particularly harsh criticism.  I know they helped LM over the line.  It's kind of standard that everyone gets praised in the final with the chosen one getting the "deserved winner" hidden message
Report Cider • October 19, 2014 10:49 PM BST
That's what I think has changed personally, no hidden messages in the last three finals, it's been in great big neon lights. They may have got the one they wanted in any case.
Report CLYDEBANK29 • October 19, 2014 10:49 PM BST
Cardle did get the worst treatment of the 3 finalists in that year's final, although it was a much more even affair than many, prolly because they thought they couldn't get him beat.

I think Nickys treatment last year is why the viewing figures are a complete disaster. He was almost the worst treated act in the shows history, narrowly beaten by Eggnog.

And Kerrianne Covell was the peoples favourite going into the Judges houses. There was very bad taste all over the X-Factor statuses when she didn't make it. I think many of her fans switched off right there.

But you can't be less than average build if you are a young contestant on this show. Remember that Scottish beast with the belter of a voice who got to the judges house (twice I think). Only to be let down, certainly due to her size and facial piercings.
