looks like I scraped my Lithuania lay, and Spain Top 10.

Great stuff, bear.

For three months, I played a blinder. Backed Austria at up to 200, Netherlands up to 840, laid Armenia at 2.1, Norway at 3.55 etc.etc. Realised the marmite was enough for her to romp it, and backed her again after she sung.
Then laid her around 2.3 before the results came in, to leave me with a very disappointing green. Still, better than I usually manage on ESC, and I enjoyed watching her win. What a night for the fanboys!

Close again to some nice wins, but a small win overall.

First year in five I've lost. Backed Sweden at 9s and Armenia at 4s, but didn't lay them off in time. 216 down on Austria, but recovered 460 in play and won 54 quid on Sweden top four at 1.96. I'll have to beware bearded ladies in future :)

Very true, fll, I normally have no fear of decent reds but, as Dirty Harry put it: `A man`s gotta know his limitations`. 9 years of trading this, with perhaps 2 or 3 winning years has taught me my limitations on ESC.

backed austria as soon as greece gave 12 points in the second announcement and i continued to the close. greece haven't given austria a single point for years. still overall pathetically played by me. wd to all who saw that coming earlier.

I played it safe this year too after a disaster last year. I wish I'd taken on Sweden more now, but easy in hindsight

I enjoyed the craic in the ESC betting this year,despite the loss.Still think it's the most baffling of the RTV markets to fathom though.Netherlands 850> 5 in a few weeks takes some beating.

FLL, about your question above last couple of years I remember it taking a few weeks for jury/PV split votes, no idea what takes so long???

Some information about tonight's voting: the Georgian jury results for the Grand Final were declared invalid. Therefore, the televoting results applied.

I wonder what the jurors did to get them invalidated.

The draw myth has been busted anyway. You can win from the 1st half. Infact 3 of the top 4 drawn 1st half

1st 4 favs filled the 1st four places,after the jolly winning for the last 2 years.Seems the money usually finds the winner in this by off time.
Draw is interesting....still an advantage to be late I'd have thought,although not essential as tonight proves.

Azerbaijan should have been thrown out of the contest years ago. When they rounded up people who voted for Armenia

It's good that there is now transparency and you can see how each individual juror placed the songs in ranking order 1-26. At least it will be difficult now to show corruption or biasesness.

And Armenia in tonights contest had all 5 juroros placed Azerbaijan 25th and last in each of their individual basis. Talk about biases between the 2 countries.

Dunno about the draw not making a difference stuff. In 8 of the last ten years, the winner has been in the 17th - 20th starting position. The exceptions were this year and 2007, when Bilan won from 24th place.

Poland won the UK televote

Austria tonight ranked 24th by the jury of Armenia but ranked 2nd by the televote in Armenia to be placed 14th and given no points talk about rank difference.

Those Armenia/Azer marks are ridiculous.....25th in the televote both of them also.

2nd overall too. Bloody Carrie Grant ranked her 13th. The other jurors much better. Could have got 12pts

And it will no doubt be the same between those countries with each coming year with ranking each other countries entry last no matter if the song is fantastic or not.

morning fella's...did just fine overall, massively dissapointed with Spain's finishing position (10th)...it was not her best effort last night with a few dodgey moments in her performance.
the heshe spoilt the contest for me and i knew "it" would phuck things up for me, so i totally ignored "it"...i backed Spain & Sweden in the final...however i decided to base most of my betting on the "top big5"...i could not see any of the other 4 beating Spain, got 5/1 with bvictor, my thanks to "bearcub" for posting that final rehearsal link for the UK, that really gave me the confidence to go for more...i backed Greece & Finland to win one semi, Belarus to qualify in the other...Azerbaijan top 10 was my only lay in the final.
i have to admit to not watching most of the performances (just my interests)as it would have been far too painful...this year the quality was pretty poor and the heshe spoilt the whole experience for me...i doubt i'll be back next year, they've gone too far now and to be honest the hall 99.9% full of screaming homosexuals made me feel quite billious at times.
