@Ed_StarOnSunday: BGT: Impressionist Jon Clegg has been picked as the wildcard act for Saturday's final, according to The Sun
Report CLYDEBANK29 June 4, 2014 8:08 AM BST
Morning campers.  Don't let anyone put you off your Lettice punt GB although I think she'll need close to a miracle.  Still a fiver available to nick laying Light Balance for anyone who's exposure limit won't be affected.  Always the minutest chance someone will pull out allowing a 2nd wildcard I suppose.  One of the two dance acts will probably finish last imo, whichever one has the worst combined performance and draw.
Report George Bailey June 4, 2014 9:11 AM BST
Lettice and darcy on bbc now. Danny boy.
Report George Bailey June 4, 2014 9:16 AM BST
Lettice has more than just a niche support base but I accept that it almost certainly won't be enough. On early damned by faint praise and so toast. Sometimes its just nice to look at a huge green cheaply bought and dream.
Report CLYDEBANK29 June 4, 2014 9:56 AM BST
Outstanding performances on the night such as those by Diversity and Steve Hewlett could always change things significantly, although I don't really see it in this field.  We do know some singing acts will be ramped to the rafters, so for something to beat that it's got be something special.  I think Darcy ew is the alternative to the faves.  He won't be pimped and it would mean 2 foreign winners in a row, but being foreign for a magician probably adds to the mystique.  He's a class act, and with so many singers, and unless his act on the night is carp, I think at worst he's going to be knocking on the door of the top 3.  Should BAM's vote not materialise, this could be won by a very low percentage.
Report George Bailey June 4, 2014 12:12 PM BST
Yes Clyde that is what I have been saying re a low % winning in a close year.....even sub 20% is possible hence some hope for the likes of Lettice....Danny Boy...tears   whoknows?

Rat Pack 18%
Collabro 18%
BAM 16%
Lucy 14%
Darcy 10%
Yanis 8%
Clegg 9%

From the official site....

Funny man Jon Clegg will be making an impression in the Final after being announced as the Wild Card.

The comedian who impersonated Simon Cowell in his audition, lost out to Darcy Oake and Collabro in his semi-final but will now go head-to-head with the 10 top acts on Saturday.
"I'm on top of the world," Jon told us. "I thought I was in with a chance but there were so many strong contenders for the Wild Card.

"I thought Bailey had a good chance - he is hugely talented. Also Light Balance, Innova and Jodi."

Jon has just three days to prepare for the Final but said he was working on a new routine just in case he got the call.

Fans can expect to see some familiar characters as well as a few surprises.

"I've got quite a few new impressions planned for the Final," Jon said. "But I'll be bringing out a few favourites too. I'd say the act will be 75 per cent new material.

"I'm actually working for the next few days but I'll be rehearsing to to make sure I'm 100 per cent ready. I've actually got a couple of gigs. They will give me a chance to try out some new material without giving too much away."

Jon's impressionist father who's footsteps he followed in is hoping to be in the audience for the Final.

As well as receiving strong support from his family, Jon has picked up plenty of fans from further afield.

"My dad is absolutely over the moon," Jon said. "He's so made up for me.

"Joe Pasquale tweeted me well done after I impersonated him. I've had loads of comments about my Ant and Dec. That seems to be the favourite."
