So you wanna know how your favourites REALLY did?  Forget the judges biased toward their own acts and all the 'book talking' that goes on.  Here's how the acts HONESTLY did last night ...............

Marks out of ten as usual.

CHRIS:  I thought he looked good and gave a confident performance.  Yes it is a bit 'cheesy' and a bit 'cabaret' but he did sing it well.  Quite good I thought.  6.5

MK1:   Poor vocals at the start and as you know I just can't stand all the rap nonsense on a prime time TV talent show.  Just not good at all and could well be bottom 2.  Winners of the X Factor? No.  4

JAHMENE:  Great VT about his sad past can only help his cause.  He really is a lovely lad, you can't honestly not 'like' him surely.  Looked a bit awkward I thought walking around the stage and not quite as good as last week it has to be said.  A good singer though and still one of the better acts tonight.  7

JADE:  Who would have thought she'd recover in time to sing tonight!  wink!!  She looked good I thought but again just lacks a bit of 'oomph' for me.  Not bad but not good.  6

JAMES:  For a start I thought Gary's critique is a complete exaggeration.  Did a bit better though than I've seen from him.  I didn't know the song but I thought he put it over quite well.  Safely through for me.  6.5

UNION J:  One of the singers isn't up to scratch - the taller one with the 'quiff'.  Decent enough but I still say they're not as good as the other boyband vocally.  Just so so.  6

RYLAN:  I totally agree with Gary that it's not fair he stays when far better singers have gone and may even do tomorrow.  I thought his voccals were the worst he's done so far and he's just a joke act.  On sheer talent he must leave tomorrow night surely.  3.5

LUCY:  I don't like what she does at all but this was a little better to be fair.  Still think she's just a 'Victoria Wood' tribute act that sings a ditty made up in 5 minutes and plays three or four chords on her guitar.  Once again, the winner of the X Factor?  No.  5.5

KYE:  Didn't know the song really - 'Club Classics'?  I thought this was the best we've seen from him though and one of the best of the night.  Well done.  7

DIST 3:  Much much better.  Good harmonies, they all sing well and let their hair down a bit this week.  Their best to date.  7

ELLA:  Looked good I thought with the hair down and straightened but hardly 'danced' surely!  That said she's a good singer and delivers every week.  I think the best of the night for me .... just.  7.5

That's it lads (and lasses).  I hope you haven't done your dough and if you have you've still got your BFH.  Oh and don't forget ............... "You can't beat a bit of Louis"

wink!

I'm sorry but I had to give up reading after the 7 for Jahmene. 6 for the sob story and 1 for the singing maybe.

Figgy

Fair enough.  Still burying your head in the sand I see.  No probs.

No Lou.
I think he's the biggest danger to Ella. Can't stand his singing tho and even if his style is your cup of tea, he was laughably poor tonight.

Again Figgy.  'Laughably poor'.  That equates to about what, a mark of about 3/10?  You really would, all biased aside score his performance as 3/10 and say it was 'laughably poor'.

Disagree thought it was horrid

MK1:   Poor vocals at the start and as you know I just can't stand all the rap nonsense on a prime time TV talent show.  Just not good at all and could well be bottom 2.  Winners of the X Factor? No.  4

Agree, thought they were poor tonight

JAHMENE:  Great VT about his sad past can only help his cause.  He really is a lovely lad, you can't honestly not 'like' him surely.  Looked a bit awkward I thought walking around the stage and not quite as good as last week it has to be said.  A good singer though and still one of the better acts tonight.  7

Disagree, not as bad as Figgy says but his style is a big turn off to me

JADE:  Who would have thought she'd recover in time to sing tonight!  wink!!  She looked good I thought but again just lacks a bit of 'oomph' for me.  Not bad but not good.  6

Agreed, very middle of the road, usually a recipe for a visit to the bottom 2

JAMES:  For a start I thought Gary's critique is a complete exaggeration.  Did a bit better though than I've seen from him.  I didn't know the song but I thought he put it over quite well.  Safely through for me.  6.5

Sort of agree, thought he was very good but even you admit he was good and within 0.5 of ur precious Potato head boy! Wink

UNION J:  One of the singers isn't up to scratch - the taller one with the 'quiff'.  Decent enough but I still say they're not as good as the other boyband vocally.  Just so so.  6

100% agree even though they are a big green for me.

RYLAN:  I totally agree with Gary that it's not fair he stays when far better singers have gone and may even do tomorrow.  I thought his voccals were the worst he's done so far and he's just a joke act.  On sheer talent he must leave tomorrow night surely.  3.5

Agreed, he is a joke act but boy did they throw a big production at him.

LUCY:  I don't like what she does at all but this was a little better to be fair.  Still think she's just a 'Victoria Wood' tribute act that sings a ditty made up in 5 minutes and plays three or four chords on her guitar.  Once again, the winner of the X Factor?  No.  5.5

I would mark her slightly higher but was her best performance yet.

KYE:  Didn't know the song really - 'Club Classics'?  I thought this was the best we've seen from him though and one of the best of the night.  Well done.  7

Agreed, did well tonight after being ruddy awful last week.

DIST 3:  Much much better.  Good harmonies, they all sing well and let their hair down a bit this week.  Their best to date.  7

Disagree, thought they were average at best.

ELLA:  Looked good I thought with the hair down and straightened but hardly 'danced' surely!  That said she's a good singer and delivers every week.  I think the best of the night for me .... just.  7.5

Total agreement, on a song that doesn't play to her strengths she did very well.

Not far out between us so I'll settle for that.  I think you're definately one of the better 'judges' on here and you try to be pretty fair too.

Keep up the good work, I'm gonna make you "My favourite"!

why even post and read a forum Lou, if you don't want to temper your own wisdom with the wisdom of other Judges

Oh I do and some talk a lot of sense but there's so so much nonsense and biased towards the acts they've backed/layed that all I can do is try to educate them.

They're getting there though, I shall be handing out stars soon for those worthy.

If your aim is to educate others Lou, that is a very condescending attitude. I would rather debate with reasoned arguments and come to my own conclusions, you should try it some time Lou, you big winkerWink

Thanks for the kind words!

I think they take such comments of mine with a pinch of salt (which is a bit annoying as I'm actually dead serious!)  From one winker to another though.............

Safe for me. Seems more popular than last week. I know his performance was slated on here, but I thought it was good for him.

District 3 have currently got a worldwide trend on Twitter - #TurnUpTheVotesForDistrict3

Safe as houses tonight, and I'd expect their odds to improve.

i thought kye was rubbish again

pleased i never went to any clubs that had that as a classic

wouldnt surprise me if mk1 and maloney did poorly this week as the sound only seemed to get switched on when
jehmene sang

district 3 sounded fairly good, and there must be a massive catalog of 50s stuff they could update under simons guiding influence

It's kind of irrelevant how each individual on the forum perceived each acts performances, after all the only thing that really matters is how many votes they received.Having said all that,I will proceed to totally contradict myself and say I thought James was the standout performance of the night ,with Ella second.
Jahmene had an all time X Factor Top Ten VT,and came over as a very likable, young man. However his performance made me cringe....he looked awkward and to my ears his singing was poor.....if he wins this,it's on the sympathy/likability vote,as opposed to any degree of performance/ability IMO.

Most of us can detach our own personal preferences from the xf context. Lou's likes and dislikes are more in line with a traditional xf voter.
