It's the threat of Tottenham playing in the same fashion as the current England. I think it would be hard for him to adapt after so long digging results out with largely average prem squad, but likely moot. Most options would be ahead of avb though.

Nah mate, even Everton fans I know accept they play pretty boring football. He is a pragmatic Scot and builds teams that are hard to beat!

I wonder if it’s Daniel Levy, having already decided it will be AVB, is delaying things so he can get more on here at BF.
Most likely to be a contact of some sort. In the natural scheme of things AVB wouldn't have shortened as much as he did on newspaper stories, drifted further on the 'annoyed' story, and be knocking around 3.0 now.
His price is 1.43, thought to be a shortlist of 3, nope I give up.
Having not looked at the market for a couple of hours, I read GB`s post and nearly wet myself, thinking that AVB was now at 3.0. Imagine my disappointmenrt on going to the market.

As GB says above, the stories coming from the media would not make AVB a 1.3 favourite, especially if it's true there have been no actual interviews yet, with Levy being out of the country.

Pretty common in manager markets and it's risky to oppose. The guys or guys should just let me drift though, and they might get much better prices. They must be pretty certain though looking at the trades below 1.5.

He wouldn't be stupid enough to be insider dealing, presumably. A relative or mate perhaps, I reckon it's known that avb is first choice, but negotiations are never straight forward.
True - Hodgson was a the same price as this an hour or two after it was all over 5live that he was the preferred choice for England

Really, these are not markets I'd monitor. If something is certain, normally the inherent greed in people forces any price to be taken.
That's the thing. To the layman it's not certain at all. But somebody clearly thinks it is. This to me is more persuasive than the snowball effect
Unless you were party to when an official announcement was forthcoming, you wouldn't want to lose the chance of profiting (more). To patiently wait until better prices came, and going in a bit more would be incredibly shrewd, unless it was a full time winning gambler. An opportunity like that would only come round once. Certainly interesting trading going on.

Oh yeah certainly. I remember when Quinn won that classic Sunderland market, suddenly hammered into 1.2 by his Irish chums. I announced on the SMB he was the new manager and everyone said 'who's this clown?' (no change there then). That afternoon he was appointed.

Certainly, it'll also be people clearing reds and others opposing. But definitely someone or some people are hammering the price

If the Chelsea contract theory is correct you'd expect an announcement any time now
