I'm sure the standard isn't the highest, but fair play to some of those lads who have fallen off the tour and have the desire and motivation to keep practising to still dream of been on the tour again. Whether that's getting knocked out in the first couple of rounds for the next 2 years, well I take my hat off to them.
As for Higginson, I am probably not the only one that has a soft spot for him after that epic run he had at the Welsh, I was never more gutted when he lost the final to Robertson, I think he was 9-7 up as well and lost 3 on the spin. Whatever happened to him that week, that form he had that week was never repeated apart from the odd match. When you think what these lads will be earning from snooker in the career and there are probably within the top 100 players in the world, its so sad and takes some doing to dust yourself down after all those disappointments to go again. |
