I agree with Lat's earlier selection/point on here - Wu to beat Williams at odds against, my first decent bet of this tournament.

cant wait, i do like hawkins eway, but is facing a tricky 1rd, odds on xintong is silly, would have to beat last year ru, then the champion , then perhaps robbo/allen , then selby/ronnie and then perhaps trump, should be 100/1, i really dont have a clue whos going to win, my fav player Ballrun is out , im going for robbo v hawk final , Enjoy and good luck all

first round selt is way too big against guodong surely, vafai could easily blow hawkins away if he plays well and I think zak is massively overpriced against ding

I went to Manchester to watch Wu Yize against Guodong, and while Wu Yize was the better player, Guodong was able to slow the exchanges down, and get him out of his rhythm. There were still signs of real greenness with him in terms of shot selection. He was also fortunate that Stevens was unable to kill him off in the qualifiers. I couldn’t touch Williams at odds-on given his eye trouble, but there are a few signs that a long season may be catching up with Wu Yize. I thought Selt was a bit too big against Guodong, but whether Selt has been able to put the Robertson incident to the back of his mind is doubtful, and more importantly I can’t stand Selt, and I hope Guodong buries him.
