much rather watch some obscure match featuring tony knowles from round 1 of the lada classic 1982 on youtube, can't beat the nostalgia
By:
A match you could probably have made a case for hendry if you were inclined, just didn't have the energy for it really. Wish mertens was a few ticks higher to beat heathcote later but can't not back him in these kind of matches.

Well done, John! 4-2 Mertens. 4-1 Tommy Ford Just that rare instance when two things came perfectly together - my eagerness to be on the right side of mertens whenever possible and my urge to take heathcote on whenever possible. Poor Louis, seems a nice enough fella but i just don't see he's made of the right stuff. The Ronnie curse has felled better men than him i reckon. |

By:
Indeed, mate. I did think he had a ridiculously bad run of the ball yesterday, though, I have to say, albeit any sympathy was tempered by some of the mistakes he made!
2-0 Zhou over Miah, 2-0 LMEY over Pang. |
By:
3-0 LMEY, 2-1 Zhou
By:
2-2 Miah, LMEY really should be winning 4-0 from here.
By:
Some pretty moderate stuff from Zhou from 2-0 up, now trails Miah 3-2.
By:
Zhou misses another sitter black off the spot, bangs his cue.
By:
Miah runs out of position when in with a very respectable chance to win F&M, takes on a difficult red, misses, spreads the pack far and wide, albeit leaving a few awkwardly positioned balls. Zhou does a good job of clearing to pink, leaving Miah requiring a snooker, which he doesn't get. 3-3, W.
By:
Only caught glimpses of that match and most of em were Zhou butchering easy chances. Missed how it ended, had already lost the will to live.
By:
I got distracted at the start of the W, but I think Miah had a few chances, Zhou got three opening reds but failed to get a colour with any of them. Slightly odd performance from someone who's normally pretty reliable.
4-3 Miah! |
By:
Yeah, they both had at least 2 golden chances each in the w, Zhou butchered another black, then Miah butchers a red, gets in again, makes a mini break and table goes awkward and that's where i left it. Thinking there'll be a few more shocks before week is out. Tempted by Xu Si against ricky but wanted a few ticks higher. Never sure what to expect from the giant these days.
By:
Xu steals on the black, leads Licky 1-0.
1-0 Brown over Jain. Yeah, I thought Ricky looked quite ropey last season but still managed to win a good few matches he didn't look likely to win. Xu's started off the season scoring v well. |
By:
I wouldn't write the big man off just yet, but at odds on i think I'll always be a layer if playing at all. I thought Xu definitely took a step forward last season, albeit a small one but at least going the right way. Didn't pull trigger on it in the end, will nearly feel like a loss if he wins. So it goes alas!
