Zhou misses a straightforward yellow, Judd clears in a oner. Keep missing sitters, you will get punished, 2-1 Zhou.
Ali flukes the final red from a snookered position and runs out the frame, 3-0.

After a protracted battle on final pink, Judd doubles it the length of the table and wins on the black, 2-2.
Interesting to note how far behind the pics are on that table, BTW. You can hear the claps or otherwise on the Shon table at least a couple of seconds before the action happens on the actual one!

Looking ahead to this evening - most surprising stat of the day imo:
Croup v Selt - the H2H is 11:0 to Croup and still 10:0 if you ignore the CL

That is a REALLY weird stat as well! Not one you'd pick at all!

TBH, I'm surprised Zhou has got this close. Some of those misses in the early frames, an in-form Judd would have taken full-advantage. I've not seen too much of it from that point, TBH.
Ended up with positions on the other three matches (not that two of them did me any good!), and nothing at all on this one.
I do think H2H stats can be a good guide as to whether player styles match up, but I really don't see why Selt should struggle so much with Croup's game. I don't keep numbers from pre-2015-16 season, so not sure if Selt was still trying to find his game back then, or what. A bizarre one!

Is Judd really only going to get 35 mins off? Seems a bit harsh, given they're BO9s!
Maybe Carter can put him out of his misery - he's been there for the taking but no fecker seems to want to finish the job - no matter how many opportunities they are handed.
Assuming he's the TV game - it does look like 35 minutes though.
Croup v Selt - prices bang on for the numbers; the H2H (as pointed out by TM above) is the interesting bit. Will be interesting to see if it's still relevant here.
Dotty v Ding - Ding's A LOOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGGG way clear on the numbers. Only Robbo & Ronnie are scoring better, actually! Overall H2H is 6-2 in favour of Ding, but they're all pre-2015 other than their most recent meeting, which was won by Dotty 4-0! Ding is too big, IMHO.
Oli v Shon - Shon has daylight over Oli's numbers, but it's not huge. They've only met once, back at the 2016 Indian Open, Shon winning 4-2. I imagine Oli will have experienced a far bigger adrenaline rush after getting over the line v Big Boy than Shon will have, having been there, done it all before. Hopefully he can do himself justice. Purely on the numbers, he's too big.

Indeed. At least we know Ali won't be afraid to actually do it.
Yeah, judd gives up more chances, you think ali might be a player could take advantage. Circumstances in his favour too. That hth for gouldy is crazy, kind of comforting when you favour a guy anyway. Just reckon getting to business end, he has that bit more pedigree than opponent, even if form looks much of a muchness.

If there's one major criticism of Oli's game, it's that he doesn't make enough pots when he's low on the black. He's actually so bad at that type of shot, I reckon he'd be better off just taking his medicine when he's out of posi down there.

Didn't see a ball tonight, shame for oli and so much for croup hth Selt in a sf? Definitely a weird week! I notice a few people are backing ding for the worlds now and he'll definitely be fresh and coming into a bit of form anyway. It's easy to forget, but Selt is a ranking tournament winner! And he's made a couple of other semis (all overseas, as was his win, funnily enough!). Didn't really see any of his match tonight. Breaks of 89, 90, 118 and 58, though. Clearly played quite well.
Didn't see much of Ding's after 2-0, TBH, either. I strongly suspect that the successes of Zhao and Fan have made him realise he needs to up his game a bit. There's an awful lot of emerging talent in that academy of his right now, even if some of it looks a bit burnt out.
Must admit, I'm looking forward to 10 days off myself

Selt v Ding - Even greater daylight on the numbers than Ding v Dotty. They've only met three times (2-1 Ding, ignoring the CL) and Selt's success was way back in 2012. Interestingly, the three most recent encounters (including the CL) have all gone to Winonas. Prices are more correct than the Dotty match, but I think still a few ticks too big.

Scruffy start, poor misses from each, Selt eventually steals, 1-0.

Another bad miss, green this time, Ding clears, leads for the first time, 4-3.
Ding makes the first miss, Selt has a bit of good fortune after butchering a black but leaving Ding snookered, Selt eventually ends up winning 6-5.
Not seen much of this, but Judd sets up a final with Selt. Selt played very well the last time they met at the UK Championship and beat him 6-3. I didn't realise until that match how well they know one another. Makes for an interesting dynamic. Not sure I'll be around for it, though.
