The 2022 version is still over 11 months away, but it's worth opening a thread to keep an eye on developments until we reach April 16th 2022. The latest odds are:
Trump was unlucky with that in off, but If you're playing this badly, it's going to take a bit more than the rub of the green now and again to turn it around.

Ronnie must have had a good bung from BBC and the WPBSA to drag it out Trump has been hopeless all comp the fluke in the last frame he missed the red by a foot

Pmsl at anyone who genuinely thinks Trump has a chance. Fair play to Ronnie for letting the fans have a session this evening though. Literally can win any frame at will, amusing to hear a couple of the BBC team thinking it’s game on

Still looks too short Ronnie right now - I don't trust his play at all, and he'll feel the pressure of both the record and becoming one of the worst collapses in WC history finals.

Ronnie is a player who can beat anyone or lose to anyone, just depends on his head.
For that reason taking him very short in this last session is not for me at all.

It didn't take long for the sub-primers to start making a racket on finals night with their intrusive equipment.
Still, it's an alternative to breaking wind loudly, which is unquestionably their forte.

Are these tables up to standard for this level? I don't know much about it, but seeing the way the balls seem to wobble about instead of running true, makes me wonder.

When you think of modern sportsmen and women in various fields then £200 grand for being the runner up in the World championship isn't really that much.

Well done ronnie but we can turn off the inevitble “great final” tripe
It was the most one sided final in the past 20 years, never look like losing from frame 3 onwards
18-13 yet felt like an 18-6 type match

It never really felt like a world championship to be honest, it was all anti climatic and the final was just meh
Its the first time I wont miss it on the Tuesday which is odd

The whole thing just feels emotionless, like it was going through the motions
Even ronnie cant wait to get out of there by the looks of it

these are not sportsmen BUT (even if one concedes the pockets are not as demanding as in the past and the cloths are quicker) it is still an incredibly skilful game and the WC demands a lot of mental concentration and being able to handle pressure so fair play to all involved

Latalomne 02 May 22 20:59 Was Ronnie tonguing Judd's ear?!
Ha! I was sure my screen had stalled, it was bit weird wasn't it, but then ronnies a weirdo anyway so kind of stuff you expect.
Didn't enjoy this year as much as others but fair play to him anyway. I never thought he'd get the sixth a few years ago, never mind the 7th and just not going to bother saying anything about the 8th!

Radzi isn't too bad, never annoying unlike the t0sspots who came before him. Rachel is terrible but that apart, ES is vastly superior to bbc. Jimmy F bomb was class too!

I was a Eurosport viewer all the way I thought the coverage was great thought Radzi did a good job of holding it all together The tournament as a whole I probably don't put it in my top 5 but Ronnie reaching 7 made it special Ronnie was my main bet and the winner to come from the bottom half with Unibets generous 11/10 made it a good comp overall punting wise Jimmy said Ronnie could reach 10 I'm not sure on that but he could get close Also its painfully obvious Robertson does not produce at Sheffield and with the beats Higgins took this season 10 might be on the cards

Yes, mate, extremely weird! Must admit, I didn't put the normal TV on once the BFLV coverage finished, so no idea if anything was said about what sweet nothings Ronnie had whispered.Circumstances meant it was difficult for me to get into it, but oth

Circumstances meant it was difficult for me to get into it, but other than the Trump v MJW match, I don't think I would have fared desperately well had I been around for all of it! I did say in early-December that I thought Ronnie might not win much else unless he changed something, and there was a marked step-up following his split from Laila, though whether that was the catalyst for it or not, who knows. From what I saw, he thoroughly deserved his success here.
Quite glad the season is over, TBH, as good as it's been overall. Not sure I'll bother with the ranking CL, which starts at the end of June, but I'll definitely give the European Masters qualies a bash in mid-July. Catch you then, if not before!

It felt weird because at the end of the day while there is obvious respect there, you'd hardly say they're mates exactly would you? He hugged judd longer than he did both his kids, no big deal really but just weird.
What was most disappointing for me about it is i don't think ronnie was ever put under any serious pressure at any time and it wasn't even as if he was playing THAT well, absolutely nothing like 2013 or 2004 anyway, no matter what certain pundits would have you believe.
Draw turned out incredibly benign but that does happen. Remember, robbo won his sole title beating Fergal/Gould (who could have beaten him)/Davis/Carter/Dott. Not sure any softer world titles than that have been won. But you can only play what's put in front of you.
Anyway, have a good summer mate and catch you in the autumn. As ever, i'm resolving to watch at least 50% less snooker next season but already i see Fergal has drawn Liam Davies in the first q school event, the guy who put him off the tour, and I'm finding myself being suckered in already. Plus ca change etc

Yes, given that there was a record number of Crucible centuries, which as we know is the single biggest indicator of rising standards, it is surprising that O'Sullivan wasn't really tested, particurlarly in an era of 10 or 12 supposed all-time greats. Each of his 5 opponents massively under-performed against him, other than Trump on day 2 of the final. Do people really believe that Hendry or Davis would not have made short-work against this standard of opposition? None of this is O'Sullivan's concern, of course, and it is a truly phenomenal effort for him to reach 7 World titles. I definitely did not think this was possible a few years ago, but O'Sullivan did. He knows that if he applies himself, and plays to this level then he is still the player to beat, even at The Crucible - maybe, especially at The Crucible. I don't think he'll win an 8th, but I didn't think he'd win a 6th or 7th, and I expect thegiggilo will be putting O'Sullivan's case, as strongly as ever, nearer the time.
Just 346 days before hostilities resume...
