I think the Walden v Brecel match should have been scheduled over three sessions. Luca is an awful player, for me. Positionally dreadful, decent enough potter (has to be), but his attitude and his thought processes stink. Would rather have a go at a 1/5 pot than play a telling safety.
Xiao has claimed quite a few big scalps this season, but Ding seems to own him (am quite surprised to see that their first match was way back in 2009!) and has won each of the last four times they've played. Baz should beat Carrington over this format, and 1.25 looks fair enough to me. Didn't see any of the morning or afternoon sessions yesterday, so no idea how God is playing? |

You didn't watch yesterday's early action Latalomne? How dare you have a life while there's Crucible action to absorb! I mainly watched the A.Carter v G.Dott game yesterday afternoon, but S.Murphy (who, incidentally, no longer believes in God) led 5-2 and had early chances to extend that lead in the following 2 frames, but he didn't take them and J.Jones made good contributions to get right back into it. It's amazing how long X.Guodong has been around, he looked a big prospect a few years ago, and he made a good impression on his 1st visit here a few years ago, losing a high class encounter 10-8 to A.Carter. He then lost his way for a couple of seasons, and I know he struggled with getting a cue he liked, but he seems on the way back. If he can stay with Ding early on, that could be a high quality match.

Ha ha! Don't be fooled into thinking I have a life! I was exhibiting at a wedding fair.
Cheers for the summary of the Murphy game. Hopefully Xiao can keep it tight! Good luck! |

3rd time in this frame Hawk missed a red into that corner. bad shot selection, wonder where his head is atm.
|
|
By:
Thankfully for Baz, Carrington is playing even worse.
|
|
By:
Yep, carrington cannot build a proper break so far, except in frame 1. If the hawk finds his game, he will lead 7-2 at the end of the session.

Both playing worst possible stuff atm.

Ros would have built a combined 1k break with the opportunities they had, when both made about 20 points of those.

Exactly like smurph yesterday. Should have easely been 5-1 up at some point but will probably finnish 5-4.
|
|
By:
Unlikely. Surely only one frame left in this session?
|
|
By:
yes 1 more frame

Why did he not play the other red ? Dont get it.

5-3 baz, end of session

Trying to solve that red beside the blue almost cost him the position, while he had at least 4 other easy reds available to secure the frame...
