It has to be said Ding got a total fluke to leave Ronnie snookered on absolutely every ball in that last frame.

Thought ding was superb,unlucky in the previous frame when splitting the reds and having that cut back,ding was by far the best player relentless,from what he;s done over the last 10 years everyone thought he was going to bottle it.Did the opposite,just looks a completely different player,playing all the shots..

Cut out the bouts of sloppiness from his last two matches. More 'Focus and concentration' as he said in his interview..

Saved Mark from giving him a godv hiding anyway..

ok Selby clear favourite but most of his matches so far have been little more than training matches where he's been under no pressure whatsoever. easy to play awesome snooker under those conditions.

this is completely different and ding will put it up to him, it will be a much more tense encounter. just have a feeling that there's something different about ding this year. no question in my mind if he beats Selby he goes all the way and wins it.

The difference is he's playing 10x better and doesn't look like bottling it either,think the conditions have helped him as well as he can now play all the shots and with power,in form of his life.The fact hos mother died recently has had a profound impact on his game..

yeah I really fancy him to go on to win it. although the way Selby played earlier did unsettle that conviction somewhat.

always had ding down a choker but you're right there's a change in him. I've noticed also it's been a good year for former chokers what with Garcia winning the masters so perhaps that trend will continue.

This may sound a bit strange but I think if Selby had played o'sullivan he would've been ruthless and tied him up,i get the feeling he's going to keep the game relatively open after hardly missing a ball today and that would be a mistake the way dings playing.

he must keep it close early doors
he will have to play equally well again
with absolutely no lapses
has to be absolutely clinical and ruthless
not give the jester a sniff
equally selby could roll him over

Can't see Selby playing as well as today,highly unlikely seen it so many times before ding looks like he could knock in breaks all day long as well,noticed his safety has improved 10 fold as well,he's under no pressure now as well as the underdog again and most expect him to bottle it...

I happen to have the opposite view, beating someone who he has such a bad record against should be a massive psychological boost for Ding. Against Selby his record is much better something like 12-12 overall I think

On the other hand Selby is playing awesome snooker at the moment and ominously whenever they switch over to the practice room he seems to be in their hitting balls, an absolute workhorse the guy.

Selby looks like a happier guy to me than the rather strained looking one 12 months ago, dont know what was going on with him then but he just looked a little bit subdued in himself, wasn't playing all that well (relative to his own ability). Playing better, looking happier, showing no weaknesses whatsover this time round, all adds up to a relentless march to his 3rd title in my book.

anyone else find Selby really boring?

I just can't warm to him find him a bit of a robot.

Would prefer to watch Ding win regardless of the financial investment.

Have to respect the way Selby is playing though

It's not impossible Selby and ding could be [played out by the end of this match,certainly wouldn't want to be taking short odds if playing Hawkins he's the only one that hasn't hit form yet and he is due some of his monster sessions that he usually has at his favourite venue.
