If Selby wins the first mini session 3-1 he is still going to be odds against. If they share the first 4 frames he needs to win 5 in a row and even given factoring in some doubts on McGinn getting over the winning line Selby would have to be about 7/1 if he can only share the first mini session 2-2.
not a fan of selby's style of play but if anyone can come back its him
Intersting to see how McGill reacts to knowing he us on prime time tv...
McGill looks totally focussed standing by himself while the other three players are talking to each other.
Doesn't get the hairs on the back of the beck going that. ..

Laying Selby, surely 4.3 is too short...can't see McGill not getting another 2 frames before Selby catches him.

you never know,selby is 100% opposite of McGuire,who had McGill wavering at the end,if he manages to come within two frames ide be worried for mcgill
But if McGill wins one out of the next two, difficult job for Selby then and can't afford any mistakes (but I know what you mean about Selby and his comebacks...)

i actually like Selby as a person & admire his tenacity as a player
BUT ronnie lost/blew the title last year & Selby was a fortuitous recipient
so it's not that big an upset
this ginger sweaty can play but i've seen him 'bottle' it a bit under pressure
think this is going to be an absorbing WC this year
don't think the remaining front 3 in the betting win o/r for me

So impressed with that performance. Could see from his match against Ronnie in the UK's that he could go far. Definite potential world champion imo. Has grapefruits the size of medicine balls when it comes to tricky clearances.
He is a top 16 player waiting to happen, perhaps top 8 because he has grit and stones.
Wins another match here and he's hardly too far off top 16 as it stands i would think
If he were to repeat that performance every match then would be in top 3/4 that could win it,the fact he's played two top class matches already is rarely followed up by three by anyone that's just the way snooker is so odds are against him playing to that standard in next match.All depends if he can grind a match out when not playing as well,the one thing you can say probably no one will play better than he did in the Selby match even if they win it..
He is cueing so well though Gig, he has certainly stormed onto the scene. He is not a flash in the pan either i feel because he also has positive snooker brain. It certainly stems well for his future, he is certainly a live contender. The way he took his chances surprised even Selby. I clocked a glance Selby gave him after it went 12-7, it was a look of intrigue.
McGill was brilliant yesterday, as is Robertson today so far.
Can mcgill beat murphhy or robbo though? Not exactly an easy path for this years golden boy.
Well, I don't know, sir, but if he can beat Selby then anything is possible.
Would be good for the game if he emerges as a top player. He looks like a real mum's/gran's favourite a'la Davis.
Murphy/Robertson will be under pressure against him for sure. As PM mentioned, if he can beat Selby then anything is possible. Selby`s had one poor session and McGill punished him and marches on full of confidence.
