Cope decent value at 4/1 V's Murphy.
He has the type of game to beat him and should be closer than these odds suggest.

Cracking atmosphere at the China open, the 3 people in the audience must have plenty of leg room.

They're all in watching the Trump match..

Poor snooker played by Cope today, missed some sitters.

It's the cost of the tickets in China, if I got my conversions rite it cost a quarter of a average weeks wages for a ticket, compared to around 5% in most places.

Always found it strange that when you see many matches in China its seems the only people in attendance are a few elderly communist party big wigs. Surely, it would be better to fill the arenas even if it meant giving away the tickets by world snooker. the cost of the tickets could not be much in sterling terms.
The crowds of ordinary Chinese people seem very enthusiastic as spectators when they are in the audience.

Brilliant April Fool from Murphy there.  WTF would you play the frame ball black that hard???
Report appformat April 1, 2015 8:56 AM BST
was lucky to win the frame after that...

BTW, I spent five weeks working for a UK-based airshow act in China last year.  A LOT of what happens there is purely for the benefit of officials - "Look how amazing we are!"

We did two shows, one where the weather was very good, the ticket prices were high (in comparison to UK prices for a similar standard of show, let alone when compared to Chinese incomes) and the crowds were thin, and another where it absolutely tipped it down from start to finish, the organisers let the public in for free because of the limited programme, and it was absolutely rammed.  The Chinese people are wonderfully passionate and extremely friendly, and these events would certainly benefit from bigger crowds.  The issue, I suspect, is that it is not part of the Chinese snooker governing body's priorities.

That said, I did really enjoy the country, FAR more than I expected to.  In certain regards, they are way ahead of the Western world, whilst in others they are quite backward.  Without doubt, the most frustrating thing about the place is that even though the wheel has already been invented, they HAVE to find things out for themselves.  You cannot tell them anything.

That all chimes in with what went on at the 2008 olympics, tickets for lots of events supposedly sold out months/years in advance yet subsequently played out in half empty arenas.

Anything to do with the Red Arrows Latalomne?

A civilian team known as the Twister Duo (powered by Twister Aerobatics), AG.  I do know many of the Reds, though.

On this Murphy v Jones match this morning, you can make a case for Jones being far too big.  He leads the H2H 3-2 (which surprises me a lot!) and has won Welsh Open and World Championship clashes against Smurf.
Report Latalomne April 2, 2015 8:08 AM BST
Well, that was a brutal opening frame, but Jones takes it on a respotted black.
Report appformat April 2, 2015 8:22 AM BST
stream gone?
Report Latalomne April 2, 2015 8:23 AM BST
On 365, aye.  The sound ducked out for a bit in the opening frame.

now the Aliens are invading the Selby match also...

4-3 to Murphy (from 4-1)
Report Latalomne April 2, 2015 9:58 AM BST
Looks like Jones is in again.

Thanks Latalomne
Report Latalomne April 2, 2015 10:03 AM BST
B365 is probably the best place to look.  Murphy appears to be in.
Report El Gringo April 2, 2015 10:08 AM BST
