for a debut performance, thats one of the best ive seen in years in terms of holding it together under the pressure, funny how things work out as in his previous match milkins misses black of the spot which would of left left michael needing snookers, michael pots the colours to force a respoted black and pots a stormer to make his debut. well done michael wasley is all i can say.

Great performance, I backed Ding on the handicap genuinely did not think he would win more than 4 frames. You talk about milkins missing match ball against him in the qualifiers. Thats not the half of it! I was watching him playing an amateur in the first round of qualifiers (sydney wilson) and wilson needed blue and then yellow (which was automatic) to win 10-9. Wilson misses the relatively easy blue and Walsey clears up. He was terrible in that Wilson match as well. Fair play to him though, bloody impressive debut

that was a fantastic final 2 frames superb century in the penultimate by Walsey & the last frame drama was gripping some great fearless potting by both & the way Ding laid those snookers at the death was just class really didn't think Walsey had a prayer at 8-9 but fair play one thing i noticed don't know if u guys did but Walsey seemed well jacked up,hyper 2 me don't know if it's just cos i'm tapping on maybe all the yooft r like that now but it looked a bit more than just adrenaline 2 me been some great finishes already looks like an unpredictable type of event compulsive viewing

I really wanted to watch the end and was gutted when they had to leave it at 9-8. I only found the result out this morning which I was delighted to hear. This match must've caused some depression for a lot of people cos at 6-3 it looked like a cert for Ding. I actually felt dumb that I'd opposed him after his incredible record this season. When Ding made it 9-8 I'd given up!
I just need Ronnie, Robertson, Trump & Selby to get stuffed now and I'll be laughing all the way to the bank!

Watched Walmsley in the qualifiers he showed no nerves in a close match there. Only saw the last two frame of the game last night. He was definitely not going to go out by refusing a chance and playing safe. If there was a shot on he went all out for it.

Wasley very impressive in his interviews as well as on the table. Interesting to hear him talking about playing billiards when he was a kid, surely a great way to learn about the tactical side of snooker but not sure how many people bother with the three ball game anymore?

I spend a lot of my time in snooker clubs gj, and I haven't seen anyone play billiards for years. Or golf, which was my favourite baize-based punting hybrid type-thing.

Golf Jed??? As for billiards, with respect to the founding fathers and elders, i think the fact that it is probably one of the most mind-numbingly tedious games ever invented might have something to do with its relative unpopularity these days..

It has to be said, a lot of the fun and frivolity was lost to billiards when they barred the anchor cannon. Who wouldn't be riveted watching someone compiling a break of 400,000, in units of two?
Carom, three-cushion billiards, is my current favourite game. I have recently devoted quite a lot of my time to thinking about it, but that's as far as I've got because the nearest table is 70 miles away.

ah yes jed the splendour of the anchor cannon...i take it all back, the elders can stop spinning in their graves. When they brought in a new rule governing cue measurements - players had taken to using pencils for the daintiest of touches - it was all over for me. Still bitter about it
But carom...not a bad game at all, think i saw a bit of that on sky or eurosport in the not too distant past and it was surprisingly brisk and easy on the eye

yeah that is how I got into it, the world championship final was on between a belgian guy and some other bloke (sorry about the vagueness but it was the middle of the night) a little while ago.
Some awesome imagination and cueing skills on show.
