2.8 to back on here. Personally would want 3.5 to even think about it
By:
that hasnt cheered me up

Murphy has an excellent chance of beating Trump, Judd is not in the class he thinks he is.
By:
thanks noondan.........i feel better now
By:
Moondan not a fan of Judd
![]() |
By:
50/50 match in my mind and if Murphy has his tactical side switched on then i would actually favour him.
So 2.8 a fair price, as Moondan says Trump is not the class he thinks he is and as what is normal in the modern age his type get hyped up. Murphy loves the Crucible and when flowing looks to be timing the ball very very well. |
By:
Judd is playing better than Murf at the moment so prices are right. He takes a huge amount of risks,so if you are to have a bet here, over 2.5 tons is the way to go as i see this as a very attacking game.Should be a cracker with the winner getting to the final for me.

Am beginning to wonder if people will give Trump any credit for nearly winning the tournament 2 years ago, beating 2 former champions on the way to giving Higgins a fright in the final. Dont think his bottle is in question and, from the evidence so far this year, looks to have added a bit more tactical nous to his game. Fair enough if people dont like him for whatever reason, but i cant help getting the impression that dislike is clouding their professional judgement here.
I dont think Murphy will be clinical enough to punish the mistakes Trump will make and fancy the -3.5 on the handicap. Famous last words most likely now! |
By:
I am a fan of Judd, but not his stupidity.
Sure it will take me a long time to forgive him for throwing away the title especially because I had him at 75s. He was at it again today saying him and some of the guys have taken the game to a different level. Is he for real? I could list twenty player that were better than him as match players and surely he understands that Davis does not believe half of what he says just sells the game as he is paid to do. |
By:
John im with you 100%
People just don't like the guy for the way he carries on,that i have no doubt. They don't want him to succeed as he is far too flash. He is a fantastic talent love him or hate him,but to perform the way he did at that worlds 2 years back was remarkable. So many would love to see him fail which is sad really.Love the way he plays the game. |
By:
Understand your point of views, Trump is a very good player and a couple of years back when his game sparked into life in China and then it continued at the Crucible to get to the final was a great achievement but he was an underdog then.
Now the pressure of expectation(probably the hype does not help) have transferred directly onto him and that is a different battle. It takes time to adjust, i agree with John that he has bottle but i think this match will be close, they are both attacking players and in the balls they both win in one visit. It is deserving of a semi final or even a final. I hope they both deliver, both players like the Crucible format of long matches. I still think Judd hits the ball too hard when touch and timing could bring the same results, Murphy for me at 2.8, i don`t think Judd is a player who will tie Murphy up mentally. |
By:
Thats the problem with players like trump they're spoilt so never really had to battle or do things the hard way, thats why there are so few great match players nowadays and thats why the current world champioship is looking jaded. He is however one of the most talented players i've ever seen, the prob;em with these newer players they are so weak mentally if someone gets on top of them they just go to pieces.Pure ability can win world titles and over these longer matches its been proven before players like joe johnson, sean murphy obviously hendry and if you took hendry away white wouldv'e been champion at least 3/4 times so having a great safety game doesn't matter if you have the fire power. To be honest i think the lads a bit thick
but he's definitely got the ability to win one of these eventually against the current players. |
By:
Will be a match full of breaks i have no doubt. Both go for there shots whatever the consequences,so will be free flowing.Hope Judd wins but fan of Shaun too so looking forward to it.
By:
Angel Gabrial they are both attacking players and in the balls they both win in one visit. You've summed up the match for me there in a sentence, if it comes down to a contest between 2 attacking players winning frames in one visit, its trump for me every day of the week. |
By:
Murphy is nothing like the player he was when winning the title, probably up there with hendrys titles the potting was unreal then he changes his natural game.I cannot possibly see how a player can change his game like that and produce the same result, its an impossibilty inhibiting you're natural game, trump will win that match if he plays his best.I wouldn't be surprised if its an easy win either.

I might actually do a U-Turn on this match looking at the HTH.

I find Judd to be a tad arrogant and over-confident, traits of which I have no doubt will prove tremendous assets in his career.
By:
nearly 2/1 for murphy on here to beat trump ........i will be smashing in to that thank you very much
shauns a much better match player than judd and the price is to high for shaun, judds been put under no pressure as yet and i can see murphy disposing of judd with ease. |
By:
Judd threw one away as opposed to nearly won one....A bundle of talent for sure....Has he learnt from experience....
I find he has a safety game that clearly lacks nous... Murphy as Giggsy said playing like he was when he won would be a clear winner...however Shaun has developed this crackpot side to him.... Can play some obscure selections of shot Dilemna ok so Murphy loses the first...he is now a 9/4 shot over 25 against Judd...talent experience....been there done it. No dilemna Value is with Sean... Who actually wins...well if we knew that we would'nt watch... |
By:
Judd wins this , murphy will be too distracted with pie breaks and he'll have to much indigestion around the table to be able to cope with trump over 3 sessions
By:
I'm a huge fan of Murphy but think that it will be killing him to see Trump dominate in the potting. Shaun is a confidence player, so to stand a good chance he'll need to start each session well. No value on Judd, though.
By:
I think Judd is like a ROS mini me in the respect that, it depends which Judd turns up on the day. Whenever I have watched him he is either spectacular or downright dull and crap. It will be a clash of minds IMO
By:
I would strongly favor the argument that backing Trump at 1/2 in 100 identical occurrences would yield a loss.
By:
Personally I think Murphy is made for Trump. Goes for too many shots himself, and goes to sleep for sessions at a time. Not biased either, because I can't stand either of them.
By:
murphy looks the value for the tornament, everyone this year looks dodgy .
By:
Surprised at the head to head posted earlier on this thread, but most matches on this was over shorter set up which I dont think really reflects much. Murphy for me looks the one I would prefer to be backing for this tournament, as he was tested to the max with Dott last match and came through that with a lot of credit, Trump has had it easy so far, but again you can only beat who is put in front of you, which he has done with a bit in hand. This match tomorrow for me will be the highlight of the matches so far, and I am eagerly waiting to see this match up. I will be taking Murphy in this match, odds on match for me are out and I would have Murphy as slight fav, so the 2/1 for me is a surprise.
By:
Murphy was brilliant in the UK this year. If he plays well Judd will have to play very near the top of his game to beat him. I don't get all the antagonism towards Murphy - he comes across well when I've seen him interviewed
By:
agree Father.
By:
If you look at the HTH i posted earlier on, Murphy has won the first frame on 7 occasions to Trumps 2, even though Trump has won 7 out of those 9 matches.
Just some trivia for you. Probably means Jack sh1t or that Trump takes a frame to warm up. |
By:
Murphy needs to convert chances when they appear, as they shirley will, and to punish Judd when he goes for 'one too many'
if he does that and puts it in his mind that he can't afford to miss then that may play on his mind first session will be crucial for Murphy, he cannot afford to allow Trump to build a lead quickly |
By:
I dont care who wins this I will just enjoy the match.
Murphy should do his best to pot Judd off the table, if he tries to think about it he will lose. Neither has a great snooker brain like Ronnie, but like Ronnie neither will win this tournament. Ding, Ding, Ding. |
By:
win or lose, the 2/1 available is far far to big for a player of shauns class.
trump is a great potter but im yet to be convinced he is the real deal, in my opinion he is very over rated and does not even come close to the likes of the hendry sullivan william higgins. murphy 13 trump 8 |
By:
Burger boy looks like he's down to a few half pounders a day can't stand arrogant trump the man with the worse hair (well what's left of it ) in the world
By:
Wow just seen that 2/1 I'm on
By:
After that miss glad he was only2.4 so missed it
By:
hendry just made a very salient point imho, murphy does not always make the most of his chances.i totally agree.
By:
Murphy will win this and the event imo
By:
WTF is going on out there?!? Murphy misses his third absolute sitter of the frame....
By:
o dear murphy
