Just had a look at the draw and its been most unkind to Luca im afraid...Lawlor,McGill,Gould...tough that.
Maflin/Davis v Ebdon should be interesting too.
Here is way i see final qualifying round end up;

Day v Woolaston
Yupeng v Higginson
O Neill v Doherty
Lisowski v O Brien
Chung v Cope
Joyce v Holt
Hicks v Fu
Mcmanus v Ford
Brecel v Gould
J Robertson v M Davis
Burnett v King
Jones v Campbell
Mcleod v Perry
Burden v Dale
Maflin v Ebdon
Guodong v Milkins

Think young Jack will have his hands full with the Dubliner!

Its a tough draw for him, both will slow it right down,he would much rather play Jamie Cope who is having a nightmare run.

Here is how Final stages pans out.

Ronnie  v  Carter
Bingham  v  Higgins
Murphy  v  Dott
Stevens  v  Trump
Robertson  v  Walden
Williams  v  Maguire
Allen  v  Ding
Selby  v  Hawkins

Very lopsided draw for me,top half so much handier, the winner comes from the bottom half NAP...but who??
Allen V Ding be some 2nd round game!!

Trump v Ronnie,Robertson v Selby my simis!!

I see more shocks than you do in the first round.

If young Brecel can get past Gould who I think is a top 8 player all day long over a distance of frames then he would have a chance against anyone.
Having said that, he isnt going to beat Gould who I think will make the last 16 at least.

Lisowsky has proven he has the game to beat anyone. In his first 3 seasons as a pro he has beaten Trump,  Selby 3 times and should he get to the 3 session stages he will have time to make up for any silly mistakes that have crept into his game in the latter frames of his matches.
Its a shame Ronnie has influanced his game so much (as there is only one Ronnie) and he should reflect that Hendry was a much greater winner using just one hand.

Its a tough road for Luca.Rod Lawlor will give him plenty of trouble and will be well worth a punt when they meet.Agree Gould will enjoy the long frames, still hard to believe he blew that 11-5 lead against Robbo couple of years back. Will also be backing O Brien against Lisowski, good match to trade hopefully.Fergal the type to expose Jack's game.

Looking forward to the month ahead.

Fergal is more old school than new but agreed he is no mug and it will stand young Jack in good stead if he can get by the wily old fox.

I am already getting supplies in and sincerely hope winter stays another month or so but do think its sods law the weather will be beautiful for those seventeen days.

Every match is important here and it really does matter to the players and that just adds so much to every match, betting will be secondary to me.

Bit annoyed at the draw because I'd already put money on Allen and Ding because I thought they both had great chances to win at decent price, but now at least one is going to be out before round 2. Hard to read too much into it without the qualifiers being filled in but top half certainly looks easiest, looks potential easy run to the semis for Ronnie if he's in any sort of form.
