Carter has been incredibly lucky in this match...makes a change as he was very unlucky vs Trump.

Well, for us pre-match Maguire backers next up is a visit of some church and pray for two hours...but I think it won't help anyhow 
Maguire's discipline has been shocking but with the run of balls Carter has had so far it's no big wonder. I will not red out of it, going to 'enjoy' it to the bitter end.

Fair to say Maguire took to many liberties in the early frames. Not over just yet still think Maguire is in with a chance though needs to buck up.

I really not want to see the Ebdon prodigy in the final
Carter is going to ruin my book if he makes the final, only player i'm not big green on, don't have a dime on him but would have to cover him in the final so would mean winning peanuts and wasting my time. I know he would get owned in the final by Ronnie (again) or Stevens but i couldn't let it run.
Come on Maguire, pull your finger out. If he finish 9-7 he will easily win the match in my opinion as he will finally get a run at some point, but 10-6 and Carter will probably hang on.

Comical how Carter moaned about Trump being lucky against him...the state of the run of the ball he has had today, anyone would think Selby was playing!
this is basically the match in this frame, huge frame, Maguire has to win one of these close rajjy ones

Carter backers were always looking for some luck, but Maguire backers should have taken heed of his dodgy temperament before this one. All players play an 'unlucky' match, it's how you cope with it that matters. Hendry, Davis etc in their pomp would have just shrugged and reeled off a 5 frame winning streak. Will Maguire manage that, while he's pumping his fists around?
For anyone who like the spread bets: Carter currently only at 12 to buy in this match on the 10-3 bet. That's scored 10 points for winning and 3 per frame won by. i.e. if he wins by just 1 frame you profit, plus there's less possibly downside now he's banked 10 frames already. Top bet IMO.

Why do the commentators say something, then repeat them louder, to try to make the commentary sound exciting? It just makes them sound stupid.

Usually, the cue ball doesnt go in the pocket either.
John Virgo annoys me though. When he tries to inject some enthusiasm into his commentary after the frame, he sounds more like he is having trouble on the loo.
Dennis Taylor overanalyses the shots, predicting what he thinks the next shot will be. Needless to say, the player always does something completely different.
Theyre trying to convince the viewers that if Maguire wins this frame, a 5 frame difference is nothing.
carter gutted that something went against him less than five minutes after he fluked position on a red.....i've always quite like ali, and even after the trmp game i wasn't too bothered but he's really rubbed me up the wrong way the last few days
New day's play for the finish of this match - should see Carter win.
TBF, Carter did his best to capitulate when ahead against Jones and the balls are due to start running against him. Maguire's been extremely composed since the mid-session interval. Wouldn't surprise me if it was game on.

Why was it a miss for 5 shots but not a miss for 6? Why are refs allowed to interpret rules as they go along. Dont get that one really
