Long way to go I know, but over the past two days he saw off one of the form players of 2011/2012 season playing imo really good snooker. I'll go further and say that nobody else has performed as well as him throughout their first round matches.

For someone that has never won a match at the crucible before he looked very calm and seemed to enjoy every minute of it.

I only noticed a couple of shots that he missed where he was favourite to pot in the entire match vs Lee. His long potting was excellent, safety game was sound and his shot selection impressed me too.

He now faces Jamie Jones who looked a bag of nerves towards the latter part of his good win against Murphy. Higginson should beat Jones comfortably. After that it's a possible acid test vs Trump who still doesn't look worthy of his pre tournament odds of 5/1. If he gets to the semi it's one of Higgins/Hendry/Maguire/Perry. I don't fancy either of that mob.

Robertson worries me in the lower half, but not much else going on I feel...

I got £30 on at 150/1 and have topped up with £20 at 50/1 since.

Am I on to something or am I just another deluded soul?

The Widnes Snooker Centre U'15 Daily sweepstake July 1988.

I'd struggle to win with a 40 point start now Cool

Actually think it was 1989, it's in my Everton diary but haven't seen that for years.

I'm on a 250-260, surprised he has already shortened to 42! Expect him to beat Jones, I seen them play recently in Galway at the PTC, close 4-3 game but Higginson looked good to me there so followed him here, hope he can win another match and I'll trade out then. Played very well against Lee.

I think Higginson will beat Jones but Barry Hawkins seems to me to be a better trade. He should beat Stevens and then Ryan Day or Cao Yupeng not exactly unbeatable guys, either.

Higginsons a great player to watch and I wish you well, so far I have had 5 bets and lost them all except for ronnie and he was 1.35.
I do have a feeling we are in for a shock this year.
