cost me a packet to, i had a feeling about this though as i know he always struggles at the crucible which is why this tool will never ever become world champion

It comes to my mind when he once said he was not mentally strong enough for snooker and wanted to retire. Must have been the difference between the importance of regular events and the World Championship that prevented him from showing a better performance. I'm not taking anything away from Higginson, though.

Unless I am imagining things....wasn't it Lee who used to sit there smoking away when the World Champs were sponsored by Embassy?

This tournament is far too important for Lee to win, blessed with so much talent but light on nous.
Over the years his shot selection at important times in matches is so annoying and you have to wonder just how much wacky baccy he did use the night before.

Good company out with the lads but more of a laugh than a winner.

He could certainly have shared the same fame as Ronnie, John and Mark and it is truely incredible that the 4 of them turned pro in 92 but of course Davis was a big influence and of course Hendry even bigger to drag them to their levels but things have certainly gone down hill since as players of that calibre do not exist today.

Poor health, some self inflicted have taken their tolls so its no wonder really.
