I've watched the NOTW video a hundred times and I still cannot believe he got away with it.

i don't think he got away with it - i think the context was so ludicrous - £250,000 to throw 5 frames in non ranking knock about - I think any of us would have been tempted in our own professional lives for such a ludicrous bribe.

But of course - if he can do it for £50,000 has hed done it for £10,000 or even £5,000 when it clearly does matter - my view is yes - he has

I make you right about denis taylor, you will have to go a long way to find a bigger T**T.
As for John I know him and will tell you that a mistake he may have made, and that was to trust his manager
he himself is not street wise and was just doing what was asked of him and knowing him I do not think he even realised what was being asked of him. please believe me he is straight but a div

John knew exactly what was going on.

Smart lawyers got him off the hook because it was his own promotion and his tournament did not come under the control of world snooker or its rules.
All they could get him on was failing to report an approach by fixers and bringing the game into disrepute.
His manager also helped him by accepting the blame but John absolutely knew the score and was fully aware of previous meetings between his manager and the supposed gangsters.

Johns ambition was to be a promoter and that needs serious money and that was the temptation.
I dont think John would ever throw a tour match or do anything to harm his fellow players but who knows what could happen  they make demands further down the line.

John was pretty stupid and was certainly lucky to keep his licence.
It was also very soft to allow him to serve half his ban in the closed season.
Tainted forever tho.

Probably the third best player of all time but he will forever regret his mistake.

What makes it worse is the BBC pundits who call him the best player ever - which he clearly isn't. It's almost like they're taking the p1ss.

A-T

only Davis and his Parrot try to promote that nonsense and the vast majority of pundits totally disagree and prefer to rely on what they see with their own eyes rather than Steves rather odd view.

Old Ted Lowe christened Steve "the professor of snooker" if he was still alive today he would have added "MAD" to that title.

What a sad individual you must be wishing death to someone.
