Is there any way to search the BF forum?

I sometimes want to know how such a such historical event went from us forumites point of view.

The BF search rarely gets the search word or phrase and usually brings up a load of posts without the search word. And google search can't seen to get anywhere either - even with a single word search, a word which I later find to be there.
