Hi fellow betters,
In June a game between Kolding and Esbjerg was interrupted in over-time by Esbjerg fans. Esbjerg was ahead. Most result services put the game as ended and hence BetFair settled the bet, despite the game not being finalized. A few days latter the appeal board gave the victory to Kolding.
Now Betfair doesn't want to refund the winning despite all officials reports saying the game was interrupted because they claim the game ended and since the result wasn't changed within 24 hours their settlement stands.
I have send them all the official reports as well as video footage clearly showing the game didn't end but they still claim it did and the bet was therefore settled.
Any suggestions on what to do next?

I guess they're relying on this bit of R&R 2.1
"If no official result of a relevant governing body is available, the result will be determined by Betfair (acting reasonably) using information from independent sources. In such cases, if any new information comes into the public domain within 48 hours of settlement, then Betfair shall (acting reasonably) determine either: (i) whether the market should be reinstated or resettled in light of this new information; or (ii) whether or not to wait for further information before deciding whether to reinstate or resettle the market. Except where Betfair has announced that it is waiting for further information, any information that comes into the public domain more than 48 hours after a market has been settled shall not be considered by Betfair (regardless of whether or not such information may have led to a different result)." Best of luck but I cannot see you winning this one. |
