ATR are currently aware of inconsistencies in latency for their service between desktop and mobile devices. ATR are also aware of an ongoing issue for customers experiencing intermittent stuttering on some ATR streams.
A resolution for this issue has been prioritised and ATR are working to implement a fix as soon as possible.
We appreciate your patience in this matter and will continue to feedback progress if and when it is received from the provider.
Please note that, in the short term, ATR streams will not achieve the same latency of the streams offered by RTV.
Update 11th February 2021: Remedial work was carried out by ATR at the backend of last year in an effort to improve stream quality. We believe this will have fixed many of the skipping issues being reported, whilst there are also some improvements to Android streaming latency still to come. Please be advised that this still leaves ATR streams slightly slower than the RTV equivalent.
For customers who wish to view the streams at the very lowest latency possible, we recommend using a wired internet connection to minimise any risk of skipping/buffering. Furthermore, the use of a VPN, or proxy server, may significantly slow down the video and cause stuttering.
As is always the case, occasional unforeseen technical issues could temporarily disrupt the ATR service, and we acknowledge also that there are some users having difficulties viewing these streams on a consistent basis too. We would strongly urge any such problems to be reported immediately to CS, making sure to provide race details, public IP address and internet service provider, so that ATR can investigate these cases as promptly and effectively as possible.
