Very hard to make it in the NFL but wish him the best of luck. Probably be back in Rugby Union within a year or two would be my guess.

I remember Christian Wade going to the Buffalo Bill's, he scored a tremendous touchdown against the Colts on TV and thought he was going to be good here , but it never worked out for him and he was released 3 years later and went back to Rugby in France.

Terry Price the Llanelli and Bradford Northern full back went to the Buffalo Bills as a place kicker in the early 1970s although I believe he never played for them.

The only English player that I know who made it was Mick Luckhurst who was the kicker for the Atlantic Falcons for his whole career, he was very successful

Such a different skill set. He is trying to play a game his competition grew up playing.
In rugby the play takes place behind the ball, always going backwards to go forwards.
So different to the set plays of American rules. If I were him I would look at the defensive side.
If there is one thing rugby has over most sports it is strong defence and knowing how to tackle.

If I'm an NFL recruiter I want Duhan van der Merwe.
Could be a running back or tight end. he can catch
but wide receiver seems unlikely.

Penaud would be a PR dream but I can't see where his skill set works in NFL

LRZ has made the KC practice squad at least...with other suitors interested to take him at that level...long way to go but good start at least..

sounds as though it's tight as to whether he'll make the full roster or not..

involved as RB and on (multiple) special teams in first pre season game..slight injury doubt to be able to play tonight which wouldn't help his chances but even if he doesn't make full roster would have a very good chance of staying on practice squad and possible elevation during the season..could even make a roster elsewhere if KC don't initially have him on 53 man roster..
