"Why not have a Super League team in Cumbria?" Noble added. "I think new teams bring new excitement. We've got take some brave steps."

Quote from Brian Noble just in case you missed it. Not before time.

Forget it, if there are no international/European flights involved the RFL are not interested.

The RFL have not financially supported these ventures they are stand alone due to TV/sponsers etc. That`s why all Cats games are available to us in UK on Sky and Toronto on Premier .Wales ventures totally failed. The RFL has done all they can in support but not money.Cumbria has strong or did amateur RL but weak pro teams and never full time .What are you going to do with about 15 home games in a season ?play 5 each at Workington,Haven and Barrow? Can any one of those support a full time team alone? Why is it that the views or ex players.coaches etc with absolutely zero financial, commercial etc knowledge, training or experience are given a say is beyond me.Ask them about play on the field and get someone who knows what they are doing to ask about off the field topics.

Actually I think railroaders idea of a rotating home venue has considerable merit.

Provincial RU works fine in Ireland.

No good as none of the three are suitable for Superleague nor ever could be. Would need a new ground-somewhere?where?

Why would anyone throw any money never mind a large amount at a ground in Barrow for rugby league?-only chance would be if the football team went up a few divisions-I remember the present ground as a spekkie and player and also sure they played at the footy ground for some games in the past.Sharing with them would be the only possibility.

Ah Des-not long now before his ban comes to an end I think and could do plenty of deals to get a new team and ground up and running. They could even start in Superleague with a 29 pt deduction.
