the odds don't make any sense to me

Wigan have beaten Leeds (neutral ground)  and Huddersfield (away) convincingly in the last 10 days yet have drifted to 9/2 to win the outright. Leeds obviously lost to Wigan last week and beat the worst team in super league yet have shortened to 8/15 in places
Wigan have got difficult games left but they also have the advantage of no cup games and Leeds have to visit the DW in a couple of weeks

Am I missing something ? Did half the Wigan team get injured yesterday ?

A quick look suggests to me Leeds only have one likely losable game left whereas both Wigan and Saints have two.

You also need to establish what is the regular season. 23 rounds or do the top 8 games count? For the league leaders shield the top 8 games count whilst some bookmakers state 23 rounds, Betfair state competition rules so Im assuming extra games count.

lol of course not, but that's why SL can be so good (or bad) for betting on. Laugh

its a good question

I see Hills state 23 games but I cant see any others - anyone know ? You would have to assume everyone else will wait for the 30 games

I bet Hills never settled the Scottish premiership before the split so strange that is how they will settle the RL

Has anyone had it confirmed whether Betfair count the regular season as 23 games or 30? Surely it is the latter?

it must be 30 games as it must be for any bookie who hasn't specified 23 games - the team who is top after 30 games will get the league leaders shield I presume so that's what they must pay on

The fact that someone sent Wigan out to 21 last night indicates that they believe it must be for 23 games.

the guy who is wanting to back Leeds at 1.30 must be assuming 23 games as Leeds are only 1 point clear which is nothing if there are 9 games left to play

But betfair must surely be on 30 games as they state competition rules apply and the league leaders shield will surely go to the team leading after 30 games

In Scotland when they used to split the leagues the league champions were the team who won after the games after the split not when they split

Given that Betfair have suspended the market, it would appear that they are ignoring the competition rules.

And now they have settled it. How is this right?

its not right

No trophy/shield has been awarded - it will only be awarded to whoever tops the super 8's - their rules state competition rules - it would be different if all teams start the super 8's with zero points but they don't

Probably doesn't help that the competition is now effectively called the Super8s adding further ambiguity to what constitutes the regular season.
