Looks like Sarries are going 5-3 up here, but a strong start by Connacht. Only thing stopping me backing Connacht on the cap is that their scrum is getting hammered already, and that will wear them down, particularly as Sarries have Johnston still to come on.

Some really good yoofs at Connacht these days, I like Marmion a lot, and bringing in players like Craig Clarke wont hurt. Can't really work out how they got him.

Is Duncan Taylor likely to start for Scotland this six-nations northanlite? He's not exactly the finished article, but he can certainly pick a line.

I think the clear bit is referring to how intentional it was, because it can't be to do with where his foot lands. Bloody obvious it hit his face.

Could have easily been a penalty try there. Connacht loosing their discipline here and without that they don't have a prayer.

I'm not sure where the dividing line between an accidental contact and showing due care lies, but I think it's fair to say that Connacht are lucky not to be down to 14 permanently. |

I imagine what saved him was that he started off rucking Barritt's body, but the last one hit the face.
That and the fact that the ref and TMO were too scared to show a red. |

Rugby Man you are completely wrong about the sin binning.
The match clock and the sin bin clock run until the half time whistle blows, not when the game reaches 40 minutes. You can see both of them on screen. The ref let time run throughout the replay and it eventually reached 44:41, with the sin bin down to just a shade over 2 minutes. This will be clearly visible on screen when the second half starts. |

On the clock on the TV screen yes, but fortunately whoever keeps an eye on the actual game-clock knows what's going on.

this game was about 1/4 to be called off earlier in the week. amazed they managed to get the pitch playable
