Don't see a match thread so were we go..
Can't split these two but Wales injuries will hamper them. End of a long season for AUS and wonder how much they really want this. Wales record vs SH teams is dire - no win vs AUS since 2008!

Going to bet on draw results ht/ft and some exact margins Wales by 2 and Aus by 3

yes Inj , with a 1 point lead 1.62 is too low for me , by 20 ticks or so, not saying oz won't win mind , just no value at the minute
Report RugbyMan November 30, 2013 5:48 PM GMT
Dunno Injera, for me Australia were much the better team in that half. Wales got some iffy decisions, scored that one breakout try, but other than that it was Australia breaking through time after time.

And Biggar is off for the next however many minutes.

damn, that was one hell of a half of rugby. reminds me how much fun the lions tour was this year
Report Injera November 30, 2013 5:51 PM GMT
As a trade, Oz has to be a lay. Every chance Wales get an early pen second half and all of a sudden the momentum shifts...

Agreed, Oz look very likely to win after 80 mins..
Report RugbyMan November 30, 2013 5:52 PM GMT
If it was the continent CC they would have NZ players to chose from as well. Don't reckon it would be 16-17 in that case.

Need more intensity from Wales second half. They're going to struggle to defend this Aussie backline, but up front they should be putting on more pressure and grinding Australia down.
Report Monstrous Bryan November 30, 2013 5:52 PM GMT
Most concerning aspect of that half for Wales is that 1/2p seems to have lost all confidence in his kicking......
Report curious-cat November 30, 2013 5:53 PM GMT
Halfpenny's kick against the post preventing £Wales£ from a 2 point lead
Report RugbyMan November 30, 2013 5:54 PM GMT
Missing kicks at goal is going to happen sometimes, nobody can hit 90% forever. What would concern me from a Welsh point of view is 2 pens missing touch. Priestland did that for a whole season, last year? or the year before, and chances to win games went down the pan. Absolutely criminal to miss touch completely.
Report curious-cat November 30, 2013 5:55 PM GMT

I think the comms put it down to 1/2p having a rep strain injury from going for 100 successful sequential kicks in training
Report Monstrous Bryan November 30, 2013 5:57 PM GMT
Very strange that he seemed to pass up the penalty from halfway, just after he hit the post, and then let Biggar take the next penalty from much closer in
Report subversion November 30, 2013 5:57 PM GMT
think this is the kind of high tempo, open game that tipuric would excel in. wales look off the pace at the breakdown imo

I think the hands are fine and you can see the ball curve forwards on the replay.

Don't think you can disallow those, or we would be seeing a lot of games finish 12-9 in future.

Report bumblebeessting November 30, 2013 6:10 PM GMT
why do refs even bother with the TMO these days. They only ever let them have their say when the decision might be controversial...
Report TheVis November 30, 2013 6:11 PM GMT
having an aussie lay now.  Plenty of times for Wales to have a small go Cool
Report The real Moaner November 30, 2013 6:11 PM GMT
1.1. Really?
Report RugbyMan November 30, 2013 6:12 PM GMT
Because referees get to see the big screen, put that together with what they saw live, and make a decision if they want to.

It takes the decision out of the hands of video refs, who tend to be either completely useless or sporadically useless.
Report leroyb November 30, 2013 6:12 PM GMT

PMSL, at least tipuric can get to the breakdowns, the current 3 are getting run off the park
Report RugbyMan November 30, 2013 6:15 PM GMT
You would think there were 3 Hoopers on the pitch tonight.

Aussies could pick Pocock at 8, Gill and 6 and Hooper at 7 in future.

How on earth did North get that decision, is Barnes giving sympathy pens?

Report RugbyMan November 30, 2013 6:20 PM GMT
How different was that to the times that we have seen Australia 5 yards out in this game?

Phillips is a clueless buffoon, but none of the carries looked like they were going to do anything and everyone is standing still instead of hitting onto the ball. Watch Australia at any ruck and at least 1 forward is hammering a line, giving a chance of making yardage.
Report sewter lives again November 30, 2013 6:20 PM GMT
is Sam W playing?
Report RugbyMan November 30, 2013 6:21 PM GMT
There's that bit of magic. Someone finally decides to hit a line at pace.

Well done George "one-man rugby team" North.

Report RugbyMan November 30, 2013 6:24 PM GMT
I fully agree that this is a game that would suit Tipuric, but if you go for that extra mobility you lose out on some physicality and Wales are struggling as it is in that respect.
Report RugbyMan November 30, 2013 6:25 PM GMT

Report RugbyMan November 30, 2013 6:33 PM GMT
Here we go, 69 minutes into a game that has been open as hell and possession often leads to points.

So Phillips box-kicks straight to Cooper with Wales 4pts down.

It's getting very difficult to make excuses for Wales at the moment. It's not like they aren't good enough to win these games, or at least one every now and then, but they manage to lose time after time after time and show an extraordinary level of braindeadedness (it's a word) to do so.

Hell of a match, but yet another NH loss that could have been a win.
