Only one game of interest for me today, Widnes v Hull KR.

KR getting 4 start in my book, but total opposite on the high street, which I fail to understand why. Both teams pretty much know there final positions, KR more than likely to finish 8th, and Widnes out of the playoffs.

The problem I have with KR is there away form is better when they have played top 6 teams, but when playing teams below them it is hit and miss, it would seem they go to certain grounds with the just got to turn up attitude. Another concern would be their seemingly inability to score points away from home, hitting 30 points or more on only 3 occasions, 2 of these being at Salford and London.

Widnes on the other hand, certainly know where the try line is. Racking up 32 points or more in 8 of their 12 home games, including the last 5. Of their losses at home, only 3 games have been by 2 converted try's or more, and they were against teams better than KR.

Widnes @6/4 with Fred's.

Of the others, Wakey have a chance of covering the cap, if they want to, and that's a big if, whilst games being played at Cas and Bradford are totally irrelevant and dangerous to get involved with.

I'm sticking with the theory that Cas games are mad, so have backed overs in their game. Both teams have nothing to play for and so I am hoping the defences go missing as much as they usually do. The real risk is that Chase just cant be arsed as he knows he is going, but on the other hand he could easily just go "hollywood" on every play and throw as many intercepts as assists. Salford certainly look a team more able to attack than defend, the weather is good, surely a 60pt+ game?

Tempted by Hudds tonight on the cap. Not at all convinced Wakey are even slightly interested any more, woeful last time out, and Hudds of course can win this one and then put their feet up for a bit. Tim Smith on his way, financial problems all over, doesn't bode well for the away side.
Report The real Moaner September 1, 2013 3:55 PM BST
Personally think Hudds being sub 1.1 is hilarious. I wouldn't even touch them in the 1.3s - without the Shield on the line they would be 1.2 min.
Report RugbyMan September 1, 2013 3:56 PM BST
you are aware that Hudds are top of the league because they tend to win most games right?
Report RugbyMan September 1, 2013 3:57 PM BST
Bradford 0-4 London Broncos HT

Is that the most pathetic scoreline all season? 4pts on a clear, warm day.

Only 10-0 to Cas right now which is more worrying for me.
Report RugbyMan September 1, 2013 4:50 PM BST
Good call Twonky, Widnes win 36-22. Seemed to be a disallowed try every 5 minutes.

Bradford lose 10-20 at home to Broncos. How bad is that?
Report RugbyMan September 1, 2013 5:15 PM BST
Got me overs in the Castleford game, finishes 44-30

Didn't start well, but I think 54pts in the second half. Complete madness as expected.
Report RugbyMan September 1, 2013 6:04 PM BST
Goulding and Lee Smith at half-back for Wakey, means I have to have a go on Hudds -20. Hope they put on a show.
Report The real Moaner September 1, 2013 6:07 PM BST
RM - I still make Hudds favourites (and rate Hudds) but Wakey are a ridiculous price.
Report maltese falcon September 1, 2013 6:10 PM BST
Rugbyman - Huddersfield are top of the league because they have had a freakish run with no injuries and no latter stage involvement in the Challenge Cup.  They are the 4th best team in the league at best and judging by the Grand Final prices everyone agrees.

Wakefield do have issues in the halves but I agree in that I would have no interest in backing them at 1.30, let alone 1.08.  -20 at odds on is insane.  However, there is the angle that they could chuck it in, in which case taken the higher handicaps at a price is surely the way to go.

Have to lay Hudds at these odds

Thuggery from Aiton
Report Latalomne September 1, 2013 6:20 PM BST
Did he lose that?
Report RugbyMan September 1, 2013 6:20 PM BST
Ref tells Robinson not to come running in, but doesn't give Aiton a card for that.
Report Latalomne September 1, 2013 6:20 PM BST
No, he didn't
Report Latalomne September 1, 2013 6:20 PM BST
Indeed, RM. Pathetic.
Report RugbyMan September 1, 2013 6:22 PM BST
They've got to make their minds up. If you dont deal with thugs fights will happen.

Hudds looking very good so far.
Report RugbyMan September 1, 2013 6:24 PM BST
Cockayne's defending = absolutely shambolic. Created a chance for Hudds by going in to tackle a man who is already tackled by 3 players, misses and falls over to create an overlap.
Report The real Moaner September 1, 2013 6:30 PM BST
1.03? That's stupid.
Report Nudger Daz September 1, 2013 6:33 PM BST
vis if you carry on laying these short  1s  you  soon be skint
Report Nudger Daz September 1, 2013 6:34 PM BST
hudds will win GRAND FINAL imo
Report The real Moaner September 1, 2013 6:35 PM BST
I would say the Warrington Widnes and Salford Hull KR games are enough by themselves to produce a profit for the year...
Report TheVis September 1, 2013 6:35 PM BST
I'd go skinter backing them - RLKP school of betting

Report RugbyMan September 1, 2013 6:42 PM BST
It's looked like a case of how many from the very first minute. Don't think Wakey have done anything yet.
Report The real Moaner September 1, 2013 6:44 PM BST
Still - in RL, anything can happen...
Report TheVis September 1, 2013 6:46 PM BST
Wakey are already on the ski slopes here.  Not interest today.

Wigan v Leeds.  The game neither side want to win.  Will be interesting......

Report The real Moaner September 1, 2013 6:56 PM BST
Play at Wire or play at Huddersfield?
Report TheVis September 1, 2013 6:58 PM BST
Well the bookies tell us playing at Wire is harder.  I wouldn't fancy going to either.
Report The real Moaner September 1, 2013 7:02 PM BST

Report RugbyMan September 1, 2013 7:10 PM BST
Are they claiming Hudds have looked nervous? Erm.....
Report RugbyMan September 1, 2013 7:20 PM BST
Very nervous.
Report maltese falcon September 1, 2013 7:21 PM BST
You would surely rather play these than Warrington?
Report RugbyMan September 1, 2013 7:29 PM BST
With Warrington's record in the play-offs I don't know. Play Warrington, break Briers early, go through.
Report Latalomne September 1, 2013 7:32 PM BST
WTF was that?!?
Report maltese falcon September 1, 2013 7:33 PM BST
away to Huddersfield Wigan are favourites.  Away to Warrington thet are not.
Report maltese falcon September 1, 2013 7:42 PM BST
Man of the Match award for tonight?

Brough 6/4
Kopscak 3/1
Robinson 3/1
Any Other 9/1

To 100%.  Any takers?
Report RugbyMan September 1, 2013 7:44 PM BST
Brough tends to get it regardless if the Sky pundits have anything to do with it.

Report RugbyMan September 1, 2013 8:00 PM BST
Yup, got a nice freebie on -32

Kind of feel like I deserve this one, complete and utter one-way traffic.
Report RugbyMan September 1, 2013 8:03 PM BST
Pretty pleasing afternoon all in all. I still wont be getting over the Hull no-show in a hurry though.

Massive class chasm there. 1.03 shot Hudds today.
Report Latalomne September 1, 2013 8:03 PM BST
Well done, RM.  My time will come, I'm sure....  (it better!!!  Laugh)
Report maltese falcon September 1, 2013 8:06 PM BST
Well done RM.  Still think games like this are better playing the big prices because quantifying motivation is so difficult. Big handicaps at prices and cheap lays.
Report RugbyMan September 1, 2013 8:10 PM BST
I don't disagree, had a bit of a go on both but have to admit I could have been much braver.
