Only one game of interest for me today, Widnes v Hull KR.
KR getting 4 start in my book, but total opposite on the high street, which I fail to understand why. Both teams pretty much know there final positions, KR more than likely to finish 8th, and Widnes out of the playoffs.
The problem I have with KR is there away form is better when they have played top 6 teams, but when playing teams below them it is hit and miss, it would seem they go to certain grounds with the just got to turn up attitude. Another concern would be their seemingly inability to score points away from home, hitting 30 points or more on only 3 occasions, 2 of these being at Salford and London.
Widnes on the other hand, certainly know where the try line is. Racking up 32 points or more in 8 of their 12 home games, including the last 5. Of their losses at home, only 3 games have been by 2 converted try's or more, and they were against teams better than KR.
Widnes @6/4 with Fred's.
Of the others, Wakey have a chance of covering the cap, if they want to, and that's a big if, whilst games being played at Cas and Bradford are totally irrelevant and dangerous to get involved with.

I'm sticking with the theory that Cas games are mad, so have backed overs in their game. Both teams have nothing to play for and so I am hoping the defences go missing as much as they usually do. The real risk is that Chase just cant be arsed as he knows he is going, but on the other hand he could easily just go "hollywood" on every play and throw as many intercepts as assists. Salford certainly look a team more able to attack than defend, the weather is good, surely a 60pt+ game?
Tempted by Hudds tonight on the cap. Not at all convinced Wakey are even slightly interested any more, woeful last time out, and Hudds of course can win this one and then put their feet up for a bit. Tim Smith on his way, financial problems all over, doesn't bode well for the away side.

Is that the most pathetic scoreline all season? 4pts on a clear, warm day.
Only 10-0 to Cas right now which is more worrying for me.

Rugbyman - Huddersfield are top of the league because they have had a freakish run with no injuries and no latter stage involvement in the Challenge Cup. They are the 4th best team in the league at best and judging by the Grand Final prices everyone agrees.
Wakefield do have issues in the halves but I agree in that I would have no interest in backing them at 1.30, let alone 1.08. -20 at odds on is insane. However, there is the angle that they could chuck it in, in which case taken the higher handicaps at a price is surely the way to go.

Cockayne's defending = absolutely shambolic. Created a chance for Hudds by going in to tackle a man who is already tackled by 3 players, misses and falls over to create an overlap.

stevo can now see in the dark - complete black patch where the ball could have been and he starts talking about the apex hitting the turf - keep eating the carrots

Pretty pleasing afternoon all in all. I still wont be getting over the Hull no-show in a hurry though.
Massive class chasm there. 1.03 shot Hudds today.

Well done RM. Still think games like this are better playing the big prices because quantifying motivation is so difficult. Big handicaps at prices and cheap lays.
