Why was this match played at Twickenham? No ATMOSPHERE at all.
Usually, but no consistency. Go with one hand, but expect to catch it apparently.
Lucky not to get carded there. If you do go for it and feck up you have to expect the worst
First time I've not seen it given as a pen.

Dan Cole got binned in the QF for sticking a hand out. Palisson knocks it upwards a bit and gets away with it entirely on that basis I think.

It's very small as well. 10,000 at Barnet, or 50,000 at Twickers?
you are not allowed a semi on your home ground + pretty sure their ground is under capacity as well
There's NO 50k there today. Stadium is no more than 25 - 30% filled

yep this game is almost identical to last game against ulster, nobody anywhere near scoring a try

RM - I'm not disputing that their home stadium is too small but another smaller venue than twickenham would have suited the team much better. Playing at Twickers is suiting Toulon more. A BIG mistake by Sarries if they are interested in winning the Cup
Roussouw just clangs into Ashton in the air, clear yellow card, but Rolland is looking at something in the crowd. No doubt who he has favoured so far.

Just that one miss and it was a long way out. Shame really, 12-12 would have made sense bearing in mind how the game has panned out. Both teams one bounce of the ball away from a try, but offering little else bar Rolland's infernal pweeping.
Sarries been awful imo.

I really just want to grab Rolland by the collar and just say to him to watch other referees and get your head out of your own arse. Kicking the ball away is advantage over with every ref in the world. But he knows different.
Ref cam just looks like an obvious attempt to try and make scrums more entertaining for the layman
He should get help though from the touchline as well. How two officials cant see a knock-on that obvious is baffling.

No exaggeration but that has to be one of the worst passes i have seen at such a crucial stage. Toulon big price now. Farrell been terrible bar kicking today
Rollands varying definitions of advantage over is so frustrating. Allowing Toulon drop goal attempts and breaks before recalling them. Sarries one phase and advantage over. PS BArnes is a clown
You are right Iso, I said when he allowed Toulon a massive advantage on the first one that another one would be just a yard later on. No surprise that Sarries get no help at all. That's 9pts turnaround from Rolland's farcical advantages in this match.

like to know the stats with roland being the referee in games involving england & english club matches against other countries.

Sarries defeated by a French team who can afford more muscle up-front again. They just can't find a way around teams if they can't strangle them up front, and Clermont and Toulon are not teams you can beat up front
I certainly think Rolland has been a shambles as usual stewards, but the right team is going through.

Game ends with a deliberate knock-on that Rolland gives as a scrum. Every other ref gives a pen, maybe a yellow. You dont try to catch the ball by doing a star jump into the oppositions line.
Rolland is a ref that wants to be bigger than the teams. To him the game is all about him. Should not be given matches at this level as it plays to his massive ego.
much as the ref loves his whistle saracens beat themselves,they needed to be spitting fire today,what we saw was a pretty terrible effort tbh,take nothing away from toulon but they must have been expecting a tougher battle than that
Saracens were BRUTAL throughout the whole 80 mins. NEVER deserved anything from the game
Anyone think the game will actually have any bearing on Gatland's decision? Sky were hyping it up but you get the feeling that was more for the live coverage of the announcement on Tuesday
As much as I like Wilkinson,I really don't think he should be picked.He pretty much admitted in his interview after he doesn't feel he deserves to go.

They've been talking about the Lions regarding every pass, kick, stumble, fumble, run and anything else non-stop for the past 5 months. I don't think Gatland will be looking at one game and thinking, blimey, he's had a shocker, I wont be taking him. Partly that is because I would imagine he considers it more important to play well for 7 games to get to a semi-final than to have one poor game when you get there. Partly you would hope because it's because he already knows his squad and wont be making it up from scratch on Monday morning.
