He always says it. Does he think it makes him sound a bit posh, a bit pseudo-scientific? As if it's not just 26 blokes hammering the crap out of each other? "Castleford will want to utilise the kicking game in the second half..."
When considering the oddities of Stevo you probably have to look at the overall package. Take a step back from 'utilise' and you find a whole load of other strange sayings, including 'test their arm', something which he is the only man on the planet to consistently say (or utilise). It's generally believed that if you make any comment about a team being behind in the second half Stevo will instantly come out with 'try something a bit different, a chip over the top maybe....' within milliseconds, while he regularly walks around shopping centres or other public areas completely lost but spouting 'best game in the world' to anyone who tries to help him out.

Im not Stevos biggest fan and i believe he needs retiring at the end of this year. However i watched the boxing last night and Jim Watt would give Stevo a run for his money. Jim Watt said we shouldn't judge Bellew on his fight tonight!! Yes Jim lets not judge him on fighting a top ten guy that won't stand there and let him punch him. He also gave Bellew rounds on the basis of swinging like a pub brawler and missing an awful lot.

And when it all kicks off (i.e. when the teams utilise their fists) Stevo's quick to tell us that "we don't want to see that on a rugby league football pitch".
When of course it's exactly what we want to see on a rugby league football pitch.
